My break lights do not work at all. 2000 Chevy Lumina- We dont know where to begin to trace the wires we tries tracing them from the rear and couldnt find the right wire. The center light in the window does not work either. We noticed when you press down on the brake that the switch for the lights causes them to go off instead of turning them on when messing around with it but couldnt figure this out.

I am CONFUSED? you say they dont work, then you say "when you press down on the brake that the switch for the lights causes them to go off instead of turning them on when messing around with it but couldnt figure this out"........ if NO brake lights work, then check fuse 23. . if the fuse is GOOD then check wires at the brake switch. Orange should have 12V, when brake pedal is pressed then the WHITE should have 12V and lights should be on. the center rmounted stop light (BACK WINDOW) has 2 bulbs, make sure they are good. The center light is wired differently. If the center light works but brake lights do not, the turn signal switch could be bad. I assume THE TURN SIGNALS are OK? IF the turn signals are working OK, the wiring between the turn signal switch and the brake lights is GOOD

Half of fuse box with no power 1995 Chevy Lumina 3.1

Hello. It seems there is a 'break' in that particular segment of your fusebox. You can 'hard wire' one side of terminals of the fuse holder and see what happens. Also, you can buy a fusebox off of the same car, splice all the wires together and see what happens. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

As soon as I start my engine my Headlights go on (not running lights) on my 1994 chevy lumina. I cannot turn them off when I am just wanting my car to warm up in the winter

Could be the headlamp relay (if fitted) is stuck or a wiring fault is causing the relay to be permanently energised. Obtaining a wiring diagram would make tracing the fault easier.

trace the wire to see where the break is and check the fuse where it is getting its electricity. there may also be an in-line fuse.

1999 chevy lumina brake light dnt work but the brake light in the back window works fine. i changed the bulbs and they dnt work i dnt have the manual to the car to tell me what fuse goes to what what can i...

It sounds to me like it is not the fuse if the rear window light is still working.

Instead, check in the trunk of your car. Can you see a wiring loom there? It is usually hidden under the trim. Look for a disconnected or loose plug. If it is not that, then you will need an auto electrician to trace the fault and repair it.

Right break light is not working on my 2000 malibu. Switch light bulb but break light does not work. Turn signal works and hazards work..

is it both lights? If yes, check 15 amp stop light fuse first. If good, check brake switch above pedal.

If only one brake light isn't working, you have a broken wire. See diagram below to trace wires.

well unfortunately you have a short. Try pulling the bulb sockets out of the lenses. You should be able to get to them from the trunk. Take the bulbs out and see if the sockets look normal under the bulb. Also see if you can trace the wires through the trunk to see if they got pinched somewhere.
