MY 1999 SUNFIRE HAS MY BATTERY LIGHT FLASHING OFF AND ON, THEN THE ABS LIGHT TURNED ON TODAY AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG LIGHT. THEN WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS THE TURN SIGNAL NOISE WHILE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. I MANAGED TO GET TO WORK AND CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF WHEN I PARKED IT? MY BATTERY IS ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. WOULD IT BE BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR?

Sounds like the alternator , check the battery voltage . If you can start the car put a voltage tester across the battery terminals rev the engine if no rise in voltage your alternator is dead.

Sure is, the regulator in the alternator went out. You can test this by starting the car and disconnecting the battery while the engine is running. If the car dies, you have a bad alternator.

I would take to a reputable mechanic to have a diagnostic performed. Sounds like you have a serious electrical problem.

SOURCE: will the alternator from a 2003 pontiac sunfire

i would try either calling a parts store and asking them if the part numbers are interchangable. I know NAPA's system has a list of all the parts that that particular part will fit when looked up. If you dont want to call you could just try useing webstes to look up the parts and see if they have the same part numbers

2000 model year GM airbag light

to turn off the airbag light you will have to take it to a dealer and have the computer reflashed and they will tell you why the light is on. I know on my Chrysler sebring the airbag light was on and I found out from a friend that the connector under the front seat sometimes gets loose and that was the problem with mine.

Airbag flashes 6 times

The flashing light means there is a problem with the SIR system. When the light stays on the system is disabled.
You will have to take it to a shop to get it scanned to find out the problem.

I have a 1999 sunnfire,ABS light is on and no rear tail lights. Mechcanic says its a 700 dollar fix.what can I do?

You can drive without the ABS, and you will still have a functional brake system. You will NOT have the added safety of the ABS that can helps avoid skidding when the brakes are applied. It's your call (kind of like driving with seat belts but no air bags), unless your state requires functioning ABS to pass inspection. But get the tail lights working before you get rear-ended.

My 1999 Pontiac Sunfire shut off while i was driving on FWY

You could have a bad alternator and are running off the battery voltage. This is just one possibility tho.

Airbag light

This is either a problem with one or both of your airbags or the airbag connector located at the back of the glovebox has been disconnected for some reason. (ie. to prevent airbag opening when installing baby seat) (1999 miata does not have a baby seat airbag disabling sensor).

You should get your car inspected at your local mazda service to check if this is a wiring (plug disconnected) issue or one of your airbags is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Flashing airbag light could indicate that either one of the airbags or both have a problem. Disconnecting the passenger's airbag has the same effect.

Warning! Do NOT attempt to do any kind of airbag/airbag wiring related repair yourself. Airbag problems should be addressed ONLY by certified technicians at your local Mazda service. (Airbag fixing requires for example that the car battery is disconnected, you MUST NOT attempt anything with the car battery connected).

Hope this helps.
