2005 rendezvous. Changed serpenntine belt and replaced leaking front seal when took it down off the jacks it will not start. Turns over but acts like fuel has been shut off. Is this an anti theft or fuel shutoff?

i looked and all connections appear to be solid.

is there a code? the dash does not show any error codes - that i can see.

Sounds like maybe you knocked the Crank Sensor loose, or possibly the injector plug harness up top near the alternator. Check all of your wiring really good in the vacinity that you were working in and around. If your anti theft light isnt flashing you in the face with the key on and engine off it isnt a fuel or theft issue. The anti theft system disables the fuel to the injectors, if you raised the car too high it can trigger the anti theft and it must be reset, but unlikely. Check all of your connections.

Don't you have to remove the serpintine belt first on a 2002 Buick Rendezvous?

You would not have to remove the belt to work on the brakes.
But yes the belt would be removed to replace the pump.

How to replace a water pump on a 2005 dodge grand caravan water pump is leaking, added fluid but is still leaking and now more frequently want to replace it as a do it ourselves

this isnt a solution, just a suggestion.my husband,a fairly skilled home mechanic, recently did this.it took 12 hours over a 2 day period.you have to remove everything from the front of the motor, including the motor mounts,to access the pump.make sure you change the timing belt at the same time if it shows ANY signs of wear so you aren't doing the procedure again anytime soon..good luck!!

I hear a kind of squeal or winding noise whenever turning the steering wheel in my 2005 Rendezvous, and I've added power steering fluid

your power steering belt might be loose or may have stretched due to weather related issues, or may have the adjustment worked loose. suggest you adjust the tension on the belt[power steering belt] youneed to have it tightened. you may even need a replacement pump. is it leaking fluid onto the ground? if so, it may be a loose hose or a busted hose. if you are mechanically inclined, please repost with specifics on if it's leaking fluid or belt is squealing? otherwise,i suggest you have it looked at from a professional. hope this helps and if you need further assistance with replacement of power steering pump, or directions of the belt tension, just ask. we will be happy to assist!

Where is the camshaft sensor located? The engine light came on, so I took it to Oreilly and ran the codes. The camshaft sensor malfunction is the code it read. So, I need to know where it is located, so...

It depends on which engine you have. It's between the cylinder heads either on the front (by the belt) or the back. Your sensor looks something like this:

Change front main seal , leaking oil around timing chain cover. could be seal around harmonica balancer.

yes, I just changed one of these recently. Had to take both front and bottom off engine. Very difficult repair, as there are no good jack points for the engine when you have all the motor mounts off.
Here is procedure I would recommend.
Remove starter and engine to transmission brackets front and back.
Remove transmission starter gear cover.
drain oil and remove oil pan.
put a block under the crankshaft and jack to release weight on motor mount.
remove front motor mount (by serpentine belt)
remove belt.
remove compressor and bracket.
remove crank pulley and vib damper.
remove timing cover. mark timing belt with direction of travel
loosen tensioner gear.
remove timing belt.
remove crankshaft timing gear and key.
remove seal and oil pump housing.
clean gasket surfaces.
replace seal and reverse procedure.

If you have questions, let me know.

2004 Buick Rendezvous, speedometer fluctuations

Turns out this is a common problem for the Rendezvous.
I took it to a mechanic and after he tested to see if all the speed sensors were working with his handheld computer reader, (because there is no speedometer cable anymore) He reset the needle by turning the key about 25 times as far as possible without starting the vehicle. The speedometer needle came back a bit each key turn till it reached zero. It's been working fine since.

1997 geo metro died while driving.

I had a similar problem with my 1987 ford escort. In this case I knew before hand what was going to happen. My water pump was going bad and loosened up the timing belt enough for belt to slip. Once that timing belt moves in position then things run bad and finally quit as mine did.

I am guessing this is the case for you also. I have changed out 3 timing belts on different escorts now, the first took about 2 days but the last took about 15 mins. The belt in my case only cost about 30 dollars.

Hope this helps

Oil leaking out the front of the lower fan belt

If the lower fan belt pulley you are referring to is the vibration damper or harmonic balancer, then that is the pulley that is attached to the engine crankshaft, and that pulley is what turns all the other pulleys on the engine. There is a seal on the shaft behind the pulley -the front main seal. This is what may be leaking oil, and if that is the case , the seal needs to be replaced.
If it is the front main seal, and you are going to tackle the repair, you need to get a Repair Manual for your vehicle and follow the directions for the fix.
