My radio/CD player constantly says "ERR" and CD's won't play anymore. It doesn't show the time or the radio station either, just "ERR". I can hear it, like it's trying to read a disc..even when the car is off. Could this be a fuse issue or something?

My 2003 tracker radio did the same thing , show err on the display wouldn't play a cd , and when the car ignition is in off position the cd makes sounds like it is still trying to read a cd, done some research on my own and read that the cd player and cigarette lighter share power to the cd player mine starting acting up when I pluged in the charger to my phone then went to a err what a coincidence, solved it by just un hooking the negative ground on my battery then connecting it again, problem solved.. cd plays again. hope this helps..

HI lisasmith566 IT is not a fuse problem .
the problem is your the CD part of the radio
must likely the cd is stock or more likely the cd drive motor is defective .
FIRST try pushing eject on radio and see CD comes out if not you need a new radio .

good luck vote

I had to get my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse fixed so the radio/cd player was disconnected from the battery. I got the code but only the radio plays but the cd player doesn't. I don't listen to the radio. The cd player comes on but it just shows track 1 disc 1 but I can't insert a cd it seems as though something is blocking it. I push the eject button and still nothing happens. Please help can't drive in the traffic without music.

Which fuse is the cd player in the fuse box

One circuit is constant power to keep the clock and station pre-set memory maintained. The other is for the radio in general. If the clock works, pull both radio fuses and put them back in one at a time to see which one is constant power. If one of them is blown, you can usually see the wire inside it is burned with a gap. I don't believe there is a separate fuse for the CD player apart from the one for the radio. If the radio works but the CD player doesn't, I'm guessing it's an internal problem.

I have a 2004 Nissan Quest. First, the speakers started popping off, then radio wouldn't work anymore. We pulled the fuse under the hood and reinserted it. When it sparks radio will come back on....

if you are having radio issues where you have to mess with the fuse to make it work i would say it is the culprit for the battery draw, a lot of radios trigger the eject when power is reconnected for the memory wire, that is not a problem with the radio.
try unplugging the radio and see if that fixes the battery draw.

I have a RDS stereo and it won't play my cd's. It says player error

RESET YOUR PLAYER AT DEFAULT SETTINGS. SWITCH IT OFF. SWITCH IT ON AND INSERT CD. GIVE THE PLAYER TIME TO READ. DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTONS TILL IT COMPLETE IT'S READING. IT WILL PLAY THE CD.

ALSO CHECK CD'S ARE BRANDED AND NOT COPY FROM COMPUTER. FEW COMPUTER WRITE CD NOT HAVE AUTO PLAY OPTION.

IF PROBLEM NOT SOLVE PLEASE INTIMATE.

Cd player shows "err" when attempting to play cd

Remove the fuse to your radio or disconnect the battery for 1 min, once reconnected. This should reset the radio again, if it does not reset the radio. Your going to have get your radio re-booted at the dealer if it's a soft wear issue and if it's a mechanical issue. The Tech2 scanner will indicate that when trying to re boot the radio.

Cd stack in cd player, screen shows err

My CD Player did the same. It showed an "ERR" message when trying to detect the beginning of a CD. I thought that the CD was dirty and wiped it down. Then I discovered that the player would detect the CD when the car was idle, but not when the car was in motion. Maybe the laser is THAT sensitive. Hope this works for you.

2002 Silverado- CD played ERR message

This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.

Cd player comes up with err message

Oh, i had this problem several times... look, the best answer that i can give you is to buy a new one, there's sony's cd-players that are great, me and my father have. now, if you want to stay with this cd player just insert the cd several times until it will play. but again, you better buy a different one.
