Radio wiring color codes

I have a 2002 oldsmobile alero and i am installing a sony cd player i need to know the radio color codes to install thr cd player

U need the colors of the radio or the car wires.... here are the car wires and the radio are below that. I suggest however gettiing a wiring kit..They are around 8 dollars and well worth the money. It makes is so easy to connect a radio.
RADIO 12V|orange + at radio
RADIO GROUND Black
RADIO SWITCH yellow
POWER ANTENNA dk. green at radio LF SPEAKER tan - gray at radio or LF speaker
RF SPEAKER lt. grn - dk. grn at radio or RF speaker LR SPEAKER brown - yellow at radio or LR speaker
RR SPEAKER dk. blu - lt. blu at radio or RR speaker

Radio wiring
constant power yellow
switched power red
power antenna/amp turn on blue
illumination is orange
all speakers the one with the black stripe is the negative connection.
right rear is purple
left rear is green
left front is white
right front is grey

    I have a 1999 alero. When I bought it for 1,200 the radio didn't work so I order a new one aPyle PLR17MPUA In-Dash AM/FM-MPX Receiver MP3 Playback with USB/SD Card and Aux-In. But when I took the old one out I see that someone had all the wires just lying there not hooked up to anything. And I have no idea how there suppose to hook up.

FYI if you remove the factory unit it will disable the cars starter and or fuel pump. The radio is tied into the security system. You shoud be able to get the wiring color codes here:

Changed Radio and now car won't start
What stereo did you use as a replacement? If you used a aftermarket (kenwood, sony, etc) cd player, you need to use the proper adapter harness. These cars have a build in theft deterrent system that involves the stereo. So, when you replace the stereo, a component of your anti theft system is missing. The use of the harness gets around this feature somehow, and allows you to use aftermarket CD players. Also, ensure that no wires are getting pinched behind the stereo, and that all your connections are soldered and shrink wrapped to avoid any future problems. I have provided a link for the correct adapter harness to your vehicle.

I have a 2002 alero. Need to know where to plug in the radio antenna.
THE OLDSMOBILE ALERO DONT HAVE A EXTERNAL ANTENNA MAST. THE OLDS ALERO HAVE WIRE GRID ANTENNA INCORPORATED INTO THE DEFOGGER GRID IN THE REAR WINDOW.THE GRID ANTENNA HAVE A REAR WINDOW ANTENNA MODULE MOUNTED BEHIND TOP OF THE REAR SEAT BACK. THE RADIO ANTENNA CABLE GOES TO ANTENNA MODULE LOCATED TOP OF THE REAR SEAT BACK.

You can purchase a wire harness from Auto Zone for you particular car, all the wires match up and it takes the guess work out, it cost about $15.00 and about five minutes to connect wire and ready to install.

WIRING CHANGE FOR 2002 DODGE CARAVAN
Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them,and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

Im hooking up a pioneer radio in a 1999 alero
anytime you are installing aftermarket stereo in car you should purchase wiring harness converter which comes with schematic, but if you insist on doing it old school youll need a repair manual to show color codes on wiring or a 12 light meter but lucky for you I looked up the wiring codes online heres link:

Want to replace factory radio
go to walmart find your cd player, dash kit ,wiring kit and then this is what you do .. remove the old radio attach the wiring harnes you bought to the factory wiring harnes this will allow you to match the color code up for your new radio with out cuting wires then install the new dash kit witch will allow you to install your cd player with a factory look this should be everything ou need to know
