I was lowering my conv. top and started moving before it was done. It beeped like crazy, I pulled over and let it finish the cycle. the top light flashes all the time now, it beeps every time I start moving forward or reverse. It did go up, but will not retract now. Is there any way I can clear the error and bypass the dealership, they are awful to work with.

SOURCE: starts, but wont move

Sounds like a broken axle (CV joint) or your transmission has gone

Is your tires the same size and are all worn about the same amount? Probably you have an intermittant wheel speed sensor problem.

Get the system scanned there will be a code stored even if the light is out and it will tell you which sensor has the problem. You can ohm test the sensors, they should all read the same amount.

Try to visit your dealer an ask about this Service Bulletin:
Bulletin Number: 11001
Bulletin Date: 20011001
Category: 103100 POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)
Summary: SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE TRACTION CONTROL ON-OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATING. *JB

I need correct part names for my Camaro 89 IrocZ28. I also need prices and places to get the parts needed.

It sounds like what you need are dealer parts, items only available from GM rather than an auto parts store. You should be able to pick the parts out of a diagram in their parts dept.

Mini cooper 2005 convertible top wont retract on passengers side

take the cover off the arm on the conv. and you'll most likely see a broken retractor arm. If you pull both sides off you'll see how the functional one works and how the other isn't working properly. With a little ingenuity, you'll be able to patch it and get it working.

I've never done #2, and #1 refers to the panel below the steering column. To remove it completely, pull it towards the driver's seat. There may be retaining clasps on it also.

ATTACK OF THE 25 BEEPS!!!!

The airbag malfunction indicator light on the instrument cluster might be the culprit. Turn on the ignition key check whether the airbag light if present. The airbag light shld be on for about 6 sec then turns off if there are no faults found. If the bulb is busted the beeping sound will warn the driver for five consecutive beeps. wear your seatbelts also.

2002 jeep liberty sport just died, worked fine 10 seconds earlier

You can check fuses using a test light or (better) a volt meter. This is done by probing the back opening at each end of each fuse while the negative lead of the meter is connected to a good ground. any fuse that shows power only on one side has failed. Some fuses will only show power with ignition on. Check all grounds as well, sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere or a bad control module (why clicking was heard)

When the roof is open, the warning light won't go out.

I know that when you lower the top, you have to hold the button up for several seconds after the top is completely lowered in order for the locks to engage. The top motor will still run and when it is finished, you will hear a "ding". to indicate it is fully down. The error will go away and your temp will show up again. I had to call the dealer to find this out.

The top of my 1999 porsche boxster wont close. When i push the button it doesn't even make a noise like it is trying to close. what should i do?

The convertible top on my 1998 boxster would not work either, nor would the windows go down. If you have checked the fuse and it is fine, then it may be what I had experienced which is the switch located in the center console directly under the hand brake. There is a white plastic switch with a plunger on it that is engaged by the handbrake being raised. When the handbrake is engaged it activates the switch which then allows the convertible top to be activated. It's a $5.00 part, (I know, I couldn't believe it either) from the porsche dealer, and a very easy to do yourself job, it took me 10 minutes from start to finish. It would be worth spending the $5 and replacing it anyway, at least you could rule it out if it stll does not work you only spent $5 rather thank $140 an hour labor rate at dealer. Pop the side plastic panel under the hand brake on the drivers side and you will see the white plastic switch. Good luck.
