Batteries will show 12 v and still not have enough amps to start the vehicle, clean all the connection points on the battery , and charge it fully, start the vehicle and check again for voltage at the battery posts, you should have a reading of 13.5 to 14.5 volts, if not, yes you have a alternator malfunction,

Battery light on 96 lexus ls400 replace battery and alternator

Did you check fuse's ? there has to be B+ voltage to the alternator for it to work . Four wires at the Alternator ? If you want to try an fix this yourself , which I don't think you should if you don't know automotive electrical systems . Go to youtube an check out some videos on charging system testing an on basic electrical trouble shooting . Then go to www.bbbind.com/ for wiring diagrams of the charging circuit .

I have a 92 lexus LS400 and all the dash warning lights came on all at once, except for check engine light. What could this mean?

check your charging system if the alternator is not putting out enough voltage your warning lights will all stay on when running, they are designed to go out over 13 volts

I got a 92 lexus ls400 an im not gettin any fire

Check and see do lights come on when not running. Most likely a dead battery, but jump it and it goes. Bad alternator not charging battery. No power, no go.

1994 Lexus ls400 replaced powersteering pump and won't shift out of park, no instrument lights no power windows, no power door locks, no power trunk release

Sounds like a major fuse blown.
Any wiring disconnected or stripped near the pump ?
Have you checked the major fuses around the battery and underhood fuse box ?

My 1991 lexus ls400

The most likely problem is your alternator, the alternator charges your battery while the engine is running, if the alternator is bad you have a dead battery, but you can check with a volt meter to ensure that is your problem. Start your car (use a battery charger or jump to start it if you need to) and put your meter on the battery post's. If your reading 13volts or so your alternator is working and maintaing voltage, however if your reading starts dropping to 10 or less(may take a few moments to drop) then it's probably your alternator. You can also check your battery's voltage before starting your vechile, if the voltage increases after you start the vechile then it seem to be charging. Alternators can be repalced somewhat easily, it's only two boltsm however you do have to remove the fan belt, and re-route after installing the new alternator. If you have some expirence working on cars you can do this yourself in your driveway.
Good luck

Here's a start for you, hope this helps
