We was having the same problem with ours, we replaced map censer and tps, but that wasn't our problem , ended up being a loose wire, going to the fuel pump, on top of the gas tank, try checking the fuel pressure???, them censers wasnt cheep, but they might have something to do with it too,

My 1995 cutlass ciera idles fine and rev up fine in park or neutral but sputters in drive

This I think would be either of two things, it could be your fuel filter or your fuel pump, hope this helps

When I try to start my 2001 jimmy, it locks up and won't turn over

are any of the other plugs wet if not i would go to the junk yard and get 2 used injectors i doubt it did anything to converter if other plugs are wet to i'd say you need a new fuel rail and injectors kerosene probley melted or plugged the rubber inside put lots of gas in it to delute kerosene not just 5 gal and maybe a bottle of drygas kerosene sometimes has water in it

I have a 2006 Hyndai santa fe and it stalls out or sputters when idleing.

It sounds like a cam Or crank sensor problem (which controls the coils) I can only advise u from here to find a new CAR GUY. Good luck

it could need a fuel injector cleaning or replacement if an injector has a problem.check the air filter as i`v seen them so plugged to cause this type of problem.there could also be a problem with the throttle position sensor(tps)not sensing the proper voltage increase when moving the throttle.i guess you installed a new fuel pump not a used pump but sometimes even a new pump is defective and the fuel pressure and volume should be checked.it`s also possible the catalytic converter is plugging up and needs to have the exhaust back pressure checked.at idle the pressure should be less than 1lb pressure and at 2,000 rpm`s should be less then 2.how dirty was the filter when it was replaced it could need changing again if there is alot of dirt in the fuel system.

I have a 2001 Nissan Altima that sputters when it idles to the point that it sometimes stalls out. We just had it tuned up and no change. About 6 months ago we had the fuel system cleaned out and that...

It is probably your electric fuel pump. Or it could be the fuel pickup filter inside the fuel tank, Either one is a pain to fix. When you say you had fuel system cleaned, was it done by a shop with a machine that cleans the fuel rail and injectors. Or did U pour some fuel system cleaner in the tank or throttle body? Also, was the throttle body cleaned when U had the fuel system cleaned? If not this could be a problem also. email me a [email protected]

Missing. I have replaced plugs, wires, cleaned injectors, new injector, new fuel pump, cleaned fuel rail, new fuel filter, treatment 4 times in gas tank. What could this be?

Missing is usually associated with the ignition system. Check the ignition module and possibly try to check the individual spark plugs. The easiest and safest way to do this is by using an induction timing light and look for inconsistencies in the spark pattern of each plug lead.

1996 Gmc sonoma

there could be several possibilities, first did you change the fuel filter? most often times a partially plugged fuel filter will cause the sputtering. plugged fuel filters generally lead to the failure of the fuel pump. if you have a fuel injected vehicle the injector themselves can fail, this happens often especially if regular maintenance doesn't happen. i always use an injector cleaner additive when i fill up each time. a common symptom of sputtering is a plugged catalayic converter. the engine needs to breath to run right. also check the airfilter this is important for the engine to breath as well as proper fuel air mixture. if the engine senses a loss of power due to low fuel air mixture it will try to pump more fuel then it should therefore it's basically flooding itself. try these basic fixes first. if this doesn't solve the problem then post back with more detail and i will try a different approach.. please rate this thanks.
