There should be a screw on the front of the trani near the coolant lines. With the engine off you unscrew the filler cap. That's on top of the trani on the driver's side. It has a little gear in fluid symbol on it. Then you take out the screw on the front and fill until fluid comes through the hole left by the screw. Remember to use Dex VI.

Hi dhansohm1,

open the bonnet (hood) and look for the transmission dip stick.... it's usually got a red top.... anyway the one that goes into the gear box.....Check the level ONLY with the engine running.... If needed, fill through the same tube....

Regards, Johngee10

From 2005 on they removed the dip stick and filler tube to save themselves $1.25 per car. You will see a plug where the dip stick use to be, you have to remove it to fill. Pontiac recommends that you inspect or change trani fluid every 50,000

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5L V6, and I can't find where to put power steering fluid in it. Can anyone share a diagram, please?

Not all power steering systems are hydraulic. I think some G6 models have electronic power steering so no fluid is needed. Referring to the owners manual it appears that only the 3.9L uses a hydraulic system. If there is a reservoir it will either be tucked behind the alternator or mounted on that end of the engine. The top mounted reservoir filler cap is on top of the engine to the left of the oil filler cap.

2007 pontiac g6 transmission filter replacement

Remove the transmission pan - some don't have drain plugs, have a big pan underneath to catch the fluid. Pull filter and install filter on. Clean any debris from pan. Install gasket onto pan and install pan back onto transmission. Torque bolts to factory specs. Fill with approved ATF.

Hope this is helpful :-)

Where is the fill cap for the power steering fluid resevoir for a 2006 Pontiac G- GT 3.5 v6 ?

Stand over the left front fender. Lean over so you can see past that side of the engine. You'll see the black cap on top of the trans on that side. Is your trans slipping between 1st and 2nd when it's warmed up? 'cause mine is.

Transmission fluid

alot of the newer cars do not have a checker. If you have no leak then its full. You just service it at the recommended intervals. How you fill them is you have a drain and a full cap. You remove the full cap and fill till it comes out. The fill cap is on the side of the trans and is accessable from the bottom

Where do i add transmission fluid to my pontiac g6 gt

You can add transmission fluid to you transmission through the transmission fluid dipstick tube. Take your time and use the right size funnel, check and dubble check to make sure you don not over fill. Over filling the transmission is just as bad as not haveing enough fluid too.
Good luck and hope this helps
