What it sounds like to me is that they didn't replace the "brake sensors" when they did the job. They are a seperate part and if whomever changed your brakes didn't charge you, I think like $20, for the part, then that's the problem.

Have the airbag system scanned for codes. Will require BMW software to complete. Possible local repair facility that can help otherwise you will have to go to the dealer.

the way to reset the brake light is to turn the key to "on" without turning the car on. Let it sit there for 15-30 seconds and the light should go off by itself. If not, double check how you have the sensors hooked up.

BMW 320D SE ESTATE, 2001. AIR BAG LIGHT HAS STAYED ON. IT HAS BEEN TO BMW DEALER, THEY JUST SEEM TO RESET IT , WITHIN A FEW DAYS ITS BACK AGAIN. WE EVEN HAD THE FLOOR MAT REPLACED.
MY BMW 318 2000 MODEL AIR BAG LIGHT IS PERMANENTLY ON EVEN AFTER RESETTING AND INSPECTION OF THE SENSORS TO BE OKAY.
