The cam sensor is located on top of the engine in the front of the left side valve cover. the crank sensor is located on the right side of the engine block just above the starter.

Where does the crank angle sensor go on a 1990 dodge daytona es turbo and what does it do

crank angle sensor, Crank position sensor ,reads the position in degrees of the crankshaft. When the sensor reads a set point on the crankshaft it sends a signal to the ECM(CPU) program which then triggers the spark for that positioned cylinder. It also triggers the injector to squirt. Without it the CPU will not know when to set the spark or injector so nothing works. It is constant for all ECM controlled engines regardless. Further the cam shaft position sensor sends a signal to the cpu telling it that the valves are in the correct position for spark, fuel. When the cam belt/chain breaks there is no position regestired so the spark and fuel are shut off

Need to know how many sensor. is on my transmission.. 2003 Pontiac Montana v 6 .. can you show me picture where transmission control solenoid goes?

There are 12 common sensors and 10 internal sensors. The most common that often fail (MAP), (TPS), (CAM), (IGN), (CRANK) MAP is your mass air flow which is located at the beginning of your air intake, TPS is the throttle body position sensor, the CAM is the cam shaft position sensor (transmission), IGN ignition position sensor and the CRANK sensor is located near the bottom driver side front

I have a 2003 chevy malibu with 90,000 miles. i took it in for maintenance and the mechanic said that it was showing trouble code p0341. he said it was the cam sensor. yesterday when i went to start it, it...

if the cam sensor is bad, it will definitely not start. The cam shaft position sensor's function is: the engine speed and crankshaft position information is supplied frome a sensor which is usually situated at the front or rear of the crankshaft. note that distributor-located engine speed sensor are generally being replaced with crank shaft-located sensors,as worn disributor drives and associated components can effect the accuracy of the engine speed signal.

A camshaft position sensor,or cylinder identification sensor is used to determin the engine cycle position the information is used to provide individual cylinder ignition and injection cotrol. Many engine mangement systems use an inductive type of sensor that is located near the camshaft;when the camshaft rotates a single signal is passed to the ECU to indicate a reference point in the engine cycle

Ok i have a cam sencer problen have replace sencer and magnet it still cuts the car off and showes the same code

Try replacing the "Crank Shaft Position Sensor" this two sensors "Cam" and "Crank" communicate so if one is acting up it sends the wrong signal to the computer, I recently had the exact same problem but in reverse and a different vehicle, the other thing, although not very usual is the wire harnnes that connects to the sensor itself could not be working properly. Good Luck!

I would like to know if the cam sensor and the crank shaft sensor are one of the same or two different items

They are two different items. The cam sensor reports the position of the cam shaft(s) which operate the valves. The crank shaft sensor reports the position of the crank shaft, ie the position of the pistons.

What is a cam crank sensor on 2004 Audi A4

The "cam crank" sensor is the "reader" for position and speed of the camshaft. This sensor send informations to Engine Control Unit about camshaft position and speed. If the sensor is faulty engine stops!
