Did you check the fuse for the O2 heater circuit? Also what year, make, model and engine size do you have?
I also have the same problem but my vehicle is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am and I JUST replaced the o2 sensor today... And it stopped revving and then dieing but after work I started my car to warm it up a bit before I started driving home but it started doing the same thing but it didn't die as quickly... I also haven't checked that yet... It's too dark out to really see anything at the moment so I will do that in the morning, thanks for the insight... We'll see if it helps... -sigh- I'm starting to regret buying the **** thing... >.>

You need try another solution: Repair short, open, or high resistance on o2 signal circuit.
Here's a good resource for tracking down those pesky engine codes.
