SOURCE: Fuel Filter in Freelander (replacing)

The fuel filter is located below the electrics box, half way between the battery and the bulkhead on the passenger side, under the bonnet. It is very difficult to see how it all fits, but it has a central screw which holds the plastic filter housing/mounting in place. Find this screw (which is a small self tapper) and be prepared to loose it, or use a magnetic screw driver. Then lift the plastic housing up and away, (towards the engine) be ready with loads of rags to catch the diesel fuel when you disconnect the pipes. There is an earth wire attached to the housing also. (anti interference, I think) It is quite a fiddle getting it back again, as it has two locating lugs on the back of the plastic housing/mounting.

SOURCE: transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II

No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.

To find out if it's oil get a oil leak detection kit. The kit contains a dye, light and glasses. Simply put the dye in oil fill location run and drive vehicle. Park vehicle shine light on new marks if they glow you have a oil leak if not it could be transmission fluid

Had the 03 land rover 2.5 engine how to tighten the cylinder head

Helpful Andrew (above) has provided details of one sort of 2.5 Land Rover engine. You didn't state which model you had.

There is a 2.5 fitted to the Freelander that is a vee-6 and the figures above do not apply.
For this engine the data page says there is no requirement to fit new bolts. I would say it is optional but the originals should be checked and any stretched or pitted/corroded bolts should be replaced. Thoroughly clean all threads and oil or grease the bolts.

Starting in the centre of a cylinder head and working outwards in a spiral pattern tighten the bolts in four stages (Nm) 25+25+25 and then by a further 180 degrees.

Change Spark Plugs but engine starts to leak oil

??? Sounds purely coincidental... You may want to look at where the oil is coming from and fix that issue. Oil pan, Oil filter, oil cooler, oil sending unit, intake manifold, valve covers, rear seal....

You either have a bad sending unit in your gas tank, a bad guage, or bad wiring from the sending unit to the guage.

I have a 94 Land Rover Disco. Two weeks ago the check oil light come on, I checked the oil and it was full, I then checked all the other fluid levels, and they were fine. I then changed the oil, yet the...

either your pressure is low causing the light to come on , and dangerous to your engine , or the oil pressure sending unit is dead. It is just a small pressure switch that screws into the side of the engine block and reads the oil pressure. If the pressure is low , or the sensor is dead , the light comes on. Oil pressure sending units die a lot more often then oil pumps , and they are not expensive to buy , or hard to install. The hardest part of the job is actually locating on your engine. Its location should be easy to find out online.

If you want to test the oil pressure sending unit, let me know. I can assist with that.

It could be that your engine oil pressure is indeed low -- how many miles on the engine?
