I have a 1989 RX7, the tail signal lights do not work when engaged, and do not show on the dash. I have already replaced the flasher unit, still nothing. What could be done to fix this?

My protege is a '99. The turn signals and hazard flashers use the same flasher unit. It is located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel and above and a bit to the right right of the driver's side fuse box.

This is Located Under the Dash on the Drivers Side Fuse Panel at the Very top of the Panel. Get down there and try the Blinkers, You will here it trying to work. Not hard to get to.

yes it is the same. the problem is most likely the turn signal switch which is located on the steering column. be sure to check all fuses, relays, and bulbs first. keep me posted thanks

I had the same problem and the flasher is not located in the fuse box because it is not a normal flasher. the cougar has an electronic flasher unit that is located on the left side of the center console. the best and cheapest place to order a new one is amazon.com. they run about $30-$40
