Check and make sure you used the right type of lube. The reason I say this is a feww years ago i put 90weight in one of mine and it would not shift they are several types of gear lube used nowdays some gear boxes like like automatic tany fluid. Just something to check.

SOURCE: gearbox oil

there is a pan at the bottom of the transmission that you can drain the fluid from.... you'll need to get a new gasket and it's a good idea to change the filter at the same time. usually you can buy that in a kit that includes both... most automatics don't have a drain hole. but be aware that you have to make sure that that is the correct transmission fluid for the tranny.
also realize that draining the pan and changing the filter is good maintenance but there is still a large amount of flud in the torque converter and transmission cooler.

I'm not sure how advisable it would be to mix the two types of fluid

changing the filter might be a better option... also when you do that there is a small magnet in the pan ... it catches any small metalic flakes as the bands wear.
and while you have the pan off you can adjust the bands... you'll need a manual to make suire that is done properly... that is if that transmission requires adjustment.... as far as i know the new electronic transmissions don't need to be adjusted.

Would like to know where the top up plug for my gear oil is and if there is a dip stick manual proton savvy bt 2006

Manual Transmissions don't have dip sticks.

2. Manual gearboxes have a drain and filler plug. The filler plug is usually found in an accessible position on one side of the gearbox which has to be accessed from under the vehicle.

To top up the gearbox the car has to be perfectly level so if you need to add oil to the gearbox you ideally need to get the car up on a garage hoist/lift so you can both access the filler plug easily, remove it and pump in the fresh gear oil. The usual correct oil level on these gearboxes is level with the bottom section of the filler plug opening in the gearbox. However you should check with the proton service staff on the correct procedure for topping up the manual gearbox in your car.

What trans fluid is in 84 nissan pickup manual trans

No transmission fluid are ever used in manual transmissions.
Gear oils are used. And the specification is:
Gear Oil 80/90W

You would need to park the truck on a level ground in order to do this job.
Remove the filler-plug on the side of the gearbox, and using a hand-pump or a rubber hose, fill the gearbox with the specified oil. Once the gear oil starts to flow out through the side filler-plug, stop! The required quantity is reached.
Replace the filler-plug and start the car to check for leak.
Be careful so you don't accidentally get unwanted item in the bearbox.
