If your pretty sure it is the Exhaust light. It is referring to your emissions, Like Cadillac converter. I doubt it is a problem with the Cadillac converter itself, but most likely it has to do with your 02 sensor that is part of the Cadillac converter emissions. What I would do, is you can take your car into a Auto Zone, they have a hand held device (computer) and they can tell you the code that comes up, but i am pretty sure this is a emissions problem , which mostly likely is your 02 sensor. Sounds like to me a ignition coil, and your car has 4 so this could possibly mean in the future more visits to the garage, to be sure I can suggest taking off the top engine cover and see if you have 4 grey ignition coils, manufactures name SAGEM, also now factory replaces with black coils.

my renault automatic 1.6 scenic 2004 had this problem,juddering, the check emissions,check gear box and the engine light on dashboard. i didn't west time, i took it to the main deals(Renault)and the problem was on the coils and i had to buy them £199.91

i have a renult scinic 2004 1400cc emissions warning light on running uneeven and loss of power can this be sorted out what is it

my warning light comes on saying "check emissions" and the manual tells me to go to my Renault dealer immediately. What is wrong? Can we drive the car normally for any distance
