Unfortunately, you cannot. Before replacement you needed to check gauge by grounding wire to block to see if gauge pegs, if the gauge does not move problem is in the gauge. I have worked on so many different vehicles, so my thought might be on a non digital type gauge not a digital. If digital gauge disregard this test.
simplify. you just were in the engine compartment... did something get disturbed, unplugged, look at the temp sender and the oil sender, they have been the most likely causes of concerns of this type since electric indicators replaced gauges years ago. does your system have a tripminder or indicator for changing the oil? does it get a reset during the service? if yours has that there may be a mode that its in...but not fully reset.. then theres a question about..does your body control ecu have a self test mode? or your powertrain control? these can be read for codes for free as a preliminary check at a local parts store.
SWITCH THE IGNITION ON.ENGINE OFF,SLOWLY DEPRESS AND RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL 3 TIMES WITHIN 5 SECONDS.WHEN CHANGE ENGINE OIL LIGHT FLASHES INDICATING RESETTING DONE.SWITCH IGNITION OFF.START ENGINE OIL LIFE WILL CHANGE TO 100 %.
I would start by obtaining a new oil pressure sender unit at autozone or advance. These are screw out and screw in with a deep well socket easy install once you find the location. I would suspect the sender going awry before the gauge and the doing anything with the gauge will involve taking dashboard apart.
Engine off, key off....turn key to run, but do not start and within 3 seconds, floor the throttle three times, slowly. Then you see the indicator flash, meaning it has reset.
Tech did not reset. if you have steering wheel controls scroll thru till you get to oil percent and hold down the reset button this is the arrow looking button. hold til it says oil life reset
there is no oil gauge reset, unless your talking about the change oil soon light,on that one turn the key on and quickly push gas pedal to floor three times and it will reset
