I think you have a low pressure situation. To prove or disprove, find the pressure switch and short it out (so the system thinks the switch is indicating sufficient pressure). You can have near sufficient pressure ("OK" pressure) and you can have cooling but your system knows if it is low or not.

My AC worked fine, I thought. It cycled on and off very rapidly - I thought this was normal. It is a 'new' vehicle to me. Pressure was 'ok' but not perfect. When I added one can, it made a world of difference. Mine is a 1994, BTW. I am certain some freon had gone from the system.

I don't think the computer controls the AC - but don't know this for a fact. I suggest you have this system checked by a automobile AC pro for best results.

Wrong fuel reading on 2004 Buick Regal

Sounds like the fuel sender unit is faulty. It's a float system in the fuel tank that converts a float reading into a electrical signal to the dash.

Does the system have a leak? If it does, then the computer might have set a low freon code that usually does not turn on the check engine light by itself. If this occurs, the code will have to be erased before the compressor will run. The computer does this in order to protect the compressor so that it cannot run without enough freon in the system. Once you correct the amount of freon in the system (if it needs it), reset the system and see if the compressor will run. Some parts stores have the ability to erase codes and will usually do it for free. I hope this solves your problem. It's definitely not good to have AC problems this time of year. Cant find Low pressure AC port

Did you check the acumulator? There is a port on it, that is the low side port. Keep in mind that if you have to recharge the system it is because other parts need service (leak in the syst) and whatever refrigerant you put in it will leak out again. The system may work temporarily or may work inefficiently. Also may sure that there is oil in syst.
