YOU NEED TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE TO REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTS. I USED A LARGE FLOOR JACK WITH A PIECE OF WOOD ON JACK SADDLE.WITH WOOD ON SADDLE PLACE JACK UNDER ENGINE OIL PAN SLIGHTLY RAISE ENGINE WITH FLOOR JACK JUST ENOUGH TO TAKE WEIGHT OFF THE ENGINE MOUNTS THEN REMOVE ENGINE MOUNT.

Motor mounts

There are a total of four mounts in the engine compartment. There is a motor mount on the passengers side of the motor underneath. There is a transmission mount on the drivers side underneath. There are two Torque-strut mounts (each sold as two pieces) between the top of the motor and the radiator shroud at the front of the engine.

How can I tell if the mechanic actually replaced my motor mounts? where are they on a 2001 Ford Taurus? I found the one on the top bone mount. Where are the other two? Thanks.

They are liquid filled,an the bottom, bolted to the subframe, should be able to see them both, and if he did the engine shouldn't jump around anymore.

I need to replace fuel pump on 1997 4-door tahoe what do i need to repair myself?

FIRST YOU NEED ROOM TO GET UNDERNEATH IF YOUR DOING OUTSIDE YOURSELF. THERE NOT MUCH THAT HOLDS THE TANK BUT TWO STRAPS, A 14METRIC OR 15 METRIC SOCKET.THERE IS ONE PLUG FOR THAT PUMP.AND TWO FUEL LINES MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE TANK.THEY HAVE QUICK RELEASE TABS. YOU WILL NEED A QUICK RELEASE TAB TO DISCONNECT. ROUGHLY 1HOUR & HALF WITH LEFT.

I may have to replace my starter. Is it easy to replace in a 2006 Ford Taurus, can I do it myself? . How much should it cost to take it to a repair shop?

hi this depends on what engine/motor is fitted as there are a two different types of starter motor, first one is a top mount starter and the other is an inserted side mount, depending as i said which engine/motor you have got, but they are both easy to fit for an armature mechanic if you have the tools to do it it is only 3 or 4 bolts and 2 wires, you are looking at possibly 70 to 100 US to fit one, not including the price of the new starter..hope this helps please vote thanks

Top engine mount

You need to loosen the motor mount slightly--just a full turn or two. Place a jack under the oil pan and lift the engine until the strain is relieved on the motor mount and finish removal. Replacement installation is the opposite except you'll want to tighten the new motor mount into place fully (if possible) before lowering the jack.

Center main mototr mount bolt is missing, need size of bolt so I can replace it myself.

More than likely the mount is bad and you will have to buy the bolt from the dealer or a fabricating shop that sells metric bolts, or go to a junk yard to get a replacement for same car. pull the nut off the other side and measure from the top of the bolt to the end of the threads then go buy one at the store using the nut as your size guide and thread pitch and get a grade 8 bolt to replace it with.

Motor mount replacement at 93000

Your best bet would be to pick up a Chilton manual from autozone. It will give you step by step instructions on how to do all kinds of things with your vehicle, including the motor mounts.

Water pump leaking

Unless your mechanically inclined, this is a tough fix if you need to replace your water pump. Your water pump is located underneath your timing belt cover (4cyl models) and basically have to have skills to get to it. These skills include removing motor mount bolt and jacking up the engine to get access to bolts that need to be removed. Unless you have decent mechanical skills, you're better off leaving it to the pros. I own a 96 Accord 4cyl 2.2L VTEC and I've done it, only because I needed to replace my timing belt.

2003 Nissan Murano Spark plug removal ( rear babk ) - the fastest way to do it.

yes i have done this myself many of times on all transverse mounted motors. also another approach you can use is to put the vehicle on jack stands and remove the plugs from underneath. then you don't have to remove the dog bone mounts. hope this helps
