2007 Kia optima - replaced battery, the alarm system won't stop going off

When you replaced the starter, did you disconnect the battery? If you did, it is the security system and engine immobilizer that is stopping the car from starting. It needs resetting. Not so easy in a Kia!

The Throttle Position Sensor is nothing to do with the Starter.

The item with the wires you refer to, is normally called the coil pack, but yours has the coil on top of the spark plugs.

So what it has is a modern type distributor that is 'distributorLESS'.

Check fuses and relays. It could also be the switch unit or even the wiring where it goes from door to the body.

It's look like that car gets into the "alarm" mode. Use your key to close/open doors.

It would help to know what kind of "won't start" you mean. Is it just ticking? Low battery voltage. Considering it started after getting your phone, probably not that. Is it cranking slow and not trying to catch (where it spins faster as the engine is firing but not fully catching and entering a run state)? Is there nothing at all, just shuts the accessories off and does nothing, no click, tick, hurk, jerk?

I had a Malibu that did not like starting too fast. As in if you flipped the key switch straight to start the fuel pump wouldn't pressurize properly or something. But if I turned it to on, gave it a second (you can usually hear when the fuel pump stops running once the system is up to pressure) then hit the starter it kicked over just fine.

What I can tell you, is to get the car out of the dealership

trans shop,unless money means nothing

to me it sounds like fan belt, just tighten it up and job done

Your battery may be weak, or becoming dead celled!! Replace it with a new one and if the problem persists, replace the alternator!
