If the system fills via an expansion tank, I would recommend removing the top hose from the radiator and filling the system by pouring the coolant in through the hose until it begins to flow out of the upper radiator port. Reconnect the hose and then fill the expansion tank. That should take care of it.

I would run radiator cleaner thru truck several times till water is clear and fill with correct ratio of antifreeze/water. Check oil if milky you have a cracked head or head gasket . clutch fan may not be engaging radiator old or incorrect for truck Semper Fi!

Check the cooling fan, thermostat or radiator. I'd start with the basics and check to make sure cooling fans kick on. If they do, remove the thermostat and recheck. If it still fails and bottom and lower radiator hoses are hot then you have a plugged radiator

2000 chevy corvette changed water pump and therm bubbling through rad cap

there should be no air in the cooling system and the system can be bled by using a pressurising equipment . Ensure that the thermostat is placed in the motor the right way with the body facing the hot water (head or block). Air defeats the purpose of having a pressurised cap and system.

Engine is running hot what could cause this after changing termostat and water pump

You could have a plugged radiator if your not losing water otherwise you could have a bad head gasket, cracked head, warped head if you are losing water.

yes it may be, but did you check the radiator for blockage? inside and out side, check to see if there is dirt on the fins. also check the cooling fan operation.
top hose get hot so that meant the thermostat is working ( it's opening ) try to bleed the cooling system again

Engine overheating

The best way to flush it would be to take off the bottom radiator hose and pump water through the fill nozzle after all the coolent is out you can then hook the hose back up and replace it with new coolant.
