Hi there:
Jeep uses and engine management system that is built by Chrysler. The ASD relay (Automatic ShutDown relay) is controlled by the PCM (Powetrain Control Module). The PCM needs to see a CKP signal (Crankshaft Position Sensor) and CMP (Camshaft Position Sensor) signal in the proper sync before the ASD relay will be turned on by the PCM.

I would suggest you take your vehicle to an experienced Chrysler technician for diagnosis.

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 5.2L MFI 8cyl the Fuel Filter is part of the fuel pressure regulator assembly which is located on the fuel pump module.The fuel pump module is located on top of the fuel tank.

engine turns over so starter is ok. chrysler computer can cause this situation. Many computer module warranties were extended by chrysler because of problems. check with dealer. They can scan computer to verify. Make sure you try starting fluid first to see if fuel pump is out. have someone spray into air filter box while trying to start car. if pump is bad it will start.

Under the glove box beneath the dash the resistor should be screwed into the heater housing.
