Question about 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan

I have locked the steering wheel, how do I unlock it. Now the car is immobilized and I can't start the engine

You may have to use a little muscle here. When this happens, turning you steering wheel to the left usually will release the ignition lock cylinder so tha you can turn the key. Make sure you hold the steering wheel once you have turned it. Keep in mind, it won't turn very far. One side you turn to will feel like it hit something solid, the other side you turn to will be the unlock side.

So
Turn steering wheel and hold until you are able to turn the key. It will take a bit of effort on your part, but that should get it back going.

Most ignition switches are in the same barrel as the locking mechanism so you would need to remove the ignition off the steering column in order to release the lock.usually gain access by removing cowling that surrounds internal steering column.bear in mind some locks on certain models need to remain in situ as they have micro switch to immobilize ignition once off the column.if you replace lock make sure you get the keys that go with it.even then you may have to get auto locksmith to program ecu to accept new lock and code.

1. Try locking and unlocking the doors five times with the remote to reset the immobilizer.

2. Key in ON position push Open button on key fob.

1998 Ford Escort steering wheel lock will not unlock. Seems jammed.
The steering wheel was turned when the key was removed. So when you try to turn on the key, turn the wheel one way and the other way to release the pressure on the key. The key should turn ok.

The key is programmed to the car and unlocks doors and locks them but when trying to start the car the immobilizer kicks on and shuts the car off. how do I reset the key? ive done it before by doing...
get the car to run then remove the chip from the key and remove the shroud around the steering wheel and tape the chip to the transponder ,then its permanently activating the immobilisor and no more problems .Just buy a decent steering wheel lock in case anyone works out whats been done .nudge nudge wink wink dont tell anyone what you have done not even your own mother

Steering wheel is locked cant find pin to unlock it
Its going to be inside the steering column near the ignition switch. When you turn the ignition it unlocks the steering lock. You can't really manually unlock it unless you break the lock system

Steering wheel is locked on my 95 ford f150 xl..it starts and goes into gear but the steering wheel won't move..it is locked
you can break the lock by pulling down on the steering whell very hard. or if your ignitons swith is bad you have to get a new one

Automatic engine immobilizer wo'nt reset
The immobilizer does not "lock" the ignition, it does not energize the fuel injection relay. What you have is a "locked" steering column. Put the key in the ignition, and pull/turn the steering wheel HARD left or right, whilst turning the key to on or start. Do BOTH at the same time.The action of you pulling on the steering wheel will unlock the steering column.
