My TERRACAN 2003 V6 (3.5L) has RPM issue as it fluctuate at overdirve at about 100km/hr due to which gear shifts to and fro. I have gone through computer scan and it shows that throtle position sensor (TPS) is out of its position and its position need to be adjusted. Can anybody help me getting this issue resolve by sharing a diagram to fix the position of TPS or by telling me the procedure to readjust the sensor. PLEASE advice. Thanks.

SOURCE: the tps (throttle position sensor)

It is usually a simple fix and does differ from car to car. I would say that if you are comfortable and have a little experience with autos then by all means do it yourself. You would most likely have to replace the sensor as they usually go out and not out of adjustment.

You timing belt is still off the mark. your fix is to replace the timing belt and the tensioner there is no other way they are known as interference engine so a replaced timing belt is the only option

Testimonial: "We checked the timig belt again and found its electric timing out, the crankshaft mark was not mtching with the mark on the blade. Thanks."

Revs seem higher than normal in my 2005 Suzuki Swift Sport (3.3rpm in 5th @ 100km/hr) - is this normal? I also have a really high fuel consumption rate

2 issues,
1: MPG, you failed to say MPG, 15mpg? or 39? is 39 low?
what MPG? you never said it?

2: rpm cruise. (what drive line, A/T M/T ?) what tranny?
first google hit , is this it? this yours?
engine: 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol, 75 kW/133 Nm
Transmissions: 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, FWD

3300 RPM in 5th and 100km
if you wish to now what is normal, find the final drive ratio, listed in the FSM. Id say this is normal. typical of tiny engines, with low torque.at lower RPMs.

if you have the A/T and IF the trannywere to slip, the TCM will infact throw DTC codes, telling you it did.
IS IT? (scan tools show you this fact as might that glowing CEL lamp on the dash, on driving.

RPM
my 1.6L spins 3000 RPM , at below tranny options valve counts.
54/59mph (104km/hr = 59) 5sp MT.
64.6 4sp A/T (goes fastest due to more aggressive OD + axle ratio is lower.)
56/.53 2sp A/T
see how drive line effects RPM? so will your cars options.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

For more troubleshooting, I suggest you to get the Following help link checked, its complete step by step procedure to inspect gear shift issues: -----

Used to get an average of about 6.5 L/100km in our 4cyl '03 Accent, now getting ~9. The only thing I've noticed is that it seems to be shifting gears at a higher rpm than it used to (no noticeable leaks)....

check your fluid, looking for odd materials in it, smelling for a burnt smell, as well as running some OBD2 tests at your local autoparts store (generally free), that should tell you if the computer is aware of any malfuctions, also, the clutches in the transmission could be wearing down, although that seems like an unlikely problem, transmissions fluid flush could cure the issue, but is more expensive than a free test

I have 1998 passat when i do 100km the rpm goes above 3000 it feels like needs a gear pls let me know what might be the problem

I am assuming that this is an automatic transmission and it would indicate that that the transmission is not shifting into high gear. The normal rpm range at 100km should be 1800 -2200 rpm's. A visit to the transmission shop would be my recommendation.

1991 volvo 740 will shift out of 4th gear at around 100km/hr and wont shift back

This is a standard shift I am presuming if so this usually indicates a bad synchronizer in the transmission. if it is an automatic trans. it is a speed sensor malfuctioning.
