Water collecting in drivers door of 2008 dodge grand caravan, in lower front corner of door is tape over a drain, I pulled the tape back and about 1/2 gallon poured out. is this normal? I assume that since I loosened the tape, that the problem won't occur again.

It's not unusual for water to make its way into a door, that's why the drain is there. It gets in around the joints between the windows and the door. I'm not sure why someone would tape over the drain but with the tape removed you should be okay. I'm a little concerned about the amount of water you got out so monitor the door for a while. If there continues to be a large amount of water collecting or draining, there may be a problem with the seals around the windows. Hope this helps.

I suspect that what you call tape is a piece of rubber that covers a drain slot, it is only attached on each end. Normally the water drains through the hole and out the middle of the rubber. Sometimes you can get so much dirt in the door that it plugs the drain. It should be fine now.

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan door lock button won't work on driver's side?

Question edited to add maker.
Question moved to model category.

The problem here is the wiring harness where it travels from the door into the door frame. Constant opening and closing of the driver's door bends the wires back and forth until they work harden and snap. This issue ONLY happens on the driver door.

Once you get inside there, you can check with a multimeter and replace that wire.

2005 dodge caravan leaking on the driver side and passenger side floor. the rain water is dropping from corner of the roof.

The rear ac evaporator box is not draining very well, and it is blowing the condensation up threw the vents, most likely. The drain should be under the rear passengers side wheel well.

My 2009 Grand Caravan's front windshield defrost isn't working

We have a 2008(same body) with the same issue. Just got back from the Dodge dealer and they said "they're all like like that" #@!& Not a good answer as we live in Syracuse NY home of 150inches of snow/season! Last year the right side wiper blade broke off because it kept getting hooked on the ice in that corner of the windshield. Chrysler should offer a fix of some kind because it effects the visibility of the entire windshield and is dangerous!!! The dealer said the other vents (set of 3 squarish ones) are actually for speakers on some models but they are in a lower/better position to heat the bottom of the windsheild and look like they should be able to have warm air run through them.
I think I'm going to double face tape a small strip of black plastic above the current vents to deflect some of the warm air to the lower edge of the windshield.
If anyone else has a better fix please post.
thanks,
Freexing in Syracuse!

The passenger power door won't open or shut with either the remote or the button on the door jamb inside the van. Driver's side door works with both.

There is a bundle of wires that are located at the back of the lower door track. We had the same problem and thought it was the door motor... actually one of the wires was just slightly cracked through and needed to be stripped put back together and taped with electrical tape....look at this closesly
