2003 Honda CRV Going to work and the Battery Indicator light came on. How do I tell if it has anything to do with the Battery or Alt?

take it to an auto parts store and allow them to put it on a computer they can tell you what cause it to light and reset it for you aswell

What happens, is you get a check light on.
You have the code read for free
If you get the code,you replace something
not knowing the system your working on
and that codes don't tell you what to change

Your best bet is to always have a professional
shop with a data base, that can access anything
they need pertaining to your vehicle,diagnose and

thats is tell signs of a bad alt have u taken alt to a auto parts store to have it tested or ur alt belt is slipping even so it new poss a bad one with bad diaeos

Any honda dealer can give you the code. I took mine to a dealer service area and they were quickly able to tell me what it was and didnt charge anything.

I had that problem on my 2004 crv, I was told it because the crv is not shifting into gear (overdrive). Cost me over $200 to fix it.

How ridiculous is that?Sorry to say this but sometimes people listen to anything they are told!! How can a new battery prevent an air bag light from going on?? You need to have the car connected to a pc or diagnostic tool in order to erase this light..Never buy any battery without knowing the exact fault..

Yes, as long as the honda isn't doing anything weird, such as strange noises, poor performance, etc, you can drive it to the dealer. They'll check it for engine codes which will tell them what's wrong. Probably an emission component (such as a sensor) isn't working properly. countrycurt0
