When you pressed the brake pedal hard, you probably broke a rubber flex line. These can burst under very high pressure.

How do I remove and replace headlight switch for a 2007 Cadillac dts

Although some 2007 Cadillac DeVille models may be equipped with non-serviceable LED (Light Emitting Diode) taillights, the headlights on all models are standard halogen bulbs. These are simple to replace, even on a high-tech car such as the DeVille. Use only the GM-recommended replacement bulbs for your Cadillac; installing other bulbs, if they fit at all, could cause problems.
Step 1 Turn the engine off. Open the hood to access the headlight casing.
Step 2 Remove the push pins that attach the protective panel (along the front of the engine bay, over the headlights). Use a screwdriver to depress the center of the push pins, and then pull them out. Pull the panel away when all of the push pins are removed.
Step 3 Remove the three bolts from the top part of the headlight casing. Push the backside of the casing forward, toward the grille.
Step 4 Grasp the edge of the headlight casing exposed above the bumper. Pull the headlight casing out carefully.
Step 5 Pry off the bulb dust cover from the rear of the casing (with the screwdriver). Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise to release it from the casing.
Step 6 Pull the bulb straight away from the socket. Attach the replacement bulb. Do not touch the glass; instead, hold the bulb by its plastic connection module.
Step 7 Reinsert the bulb into the rear of the casing. Rotate it clockwise to secure it, and then push the casing back into the mount. Tighten the three bolts, with the socket wrench.
Set the plastic panel back in place. Align the holes in the panel with the push pin mounting holes in the engine bay. Replace the push pins; push down on the outside rim of the pins to secure them.
Items you will need
  • Socket wrench
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Bulb 9005 (low-beam)
  • Bulb 9006 (high-beam)

Hood cable broke or came loose on 1992 coupe deville cant get hood up

You'll have to try going thru the grille or from under the bumper to access the hood latch.
You might want to look at another GM product to gauge were the latch is in your car.
Sometimes you can use a coat hanger as a hook to pull the latch from outside the grille or between the grille and hood. Or use a long screwdriver from under the bumper.

Abs, brake and traction control lights all stay on on my 2002 Cadillac DeVille

Same as with all vehicle problems

You have MIL lamps lite on your dash

You surely must know the first step is
to check for codes

If you don't work on your own vehicles, just
go to a repair shop

Could be a wheel speed sensor, but the system
has to be tested

Any part being replaced should be tested to
prove it failed & needs replacing, good luck with
that happening, when your paying someone.

When I pull the hood release, the hood doesn't pop up. I either have to have a second person lift slightly on the hood while I pull the release, or I have to wedge something under the edge of the hood...

No the bumpers don't do that. After time it seems the latch itself bends. Look at it and see where it is hitting. There is some adjustment in the catch at the bottom/grill. But I usually just bend the latch left or right as needed. You can use a pry bar to bend it or just hit it with a hammer. Be careful not to hit the hood.

My father is trying to sale his 1988 2 door cadillac deville he had it park 4 a while and went to put a new battery in but the cable for the hood release broke and is unable to open the hood ! is there any...

If the cable is broken at the hood release lever, I have had luck getting a hold of the cable with a pair of Vise Grips and pulling on it to get the hood open. Once it is open, you can tie a piece of wire to the hood release and let it hang down in the front grille area temporarilly until the vehicle is sold or until you buy a new hood cable assembly.

When the hood string are broken how do u get under the hood

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

92 cadillac deville

I sort of had this problem with my 92 deville...u could try to pull bak a lil more on the release and push forward after that while someone else is outside the car...the person outside the car should try giving the hood a lil push n if it pops up a bit...the latch under the hood is located to the left side next to the grill.
