SOURCE: Corolla 1998 stereo, lighter, boot and roof light, door remote not working

I would be concerned that you may have wired the stereo incorrectly, causing this shorting problem. I suggest that you take it to a stereo installer to check the wiring, as if it is wired correctly the stereo should at least light up with a new fuse in there. Unless the new fuse blew straight away when you put it in. The central lock is likely to be thrown off by the fact that the interior light isn't working, as it uses this input to figure out if the doors are open or shut. Check interior light fuse condition, and get the wiring you've done checked, would be my advice.

SOURCE: Headlights not working, fuses good...

I had the same problem with my '98 corolla... It was the headlight relay.. I just had to push it in and both lights worked fine... There are 2 relays - both under the hood... The first one is located all the way in the front of the car, right by the left headlight (when you are standing infront of the car)... The second one is located inside of the fuse/relay box (above the driver tire)...The relay looks brown in color, rectangle shaped ... Just try to clean it out and plug it back in...if it doesn't work, try replacing it... For me, I just cleand it and plugged it back in and every thing worked fine...

call your triple A Co. or tow truck provider. Special tools are used and are not available to the general public. If its an emergency break the side window and deal with replacing the glass later.

Hey everyone I have a 2005 lincoln town car and I'm having issues with the cluster lights. What could cause this?

Put it back the way it was , led lights are causing the problem . Head lamps are controlled by LCM-lighting control module -your messing with electronics inside .

Lighting Control Module (LCM)
The LCM eliminates the electronic interference and heat associated with the thermoelectric devices used previously. The LCM is a microprocessor based module that controls several vehicle subsystems. It responds to electrical input signals from various switches, sensors, and external modules.
LCM exterior lighting subsystem functions include:
  • Headlamps with autolamps
  • Turn signal lamps/hazard flasher lamps
  • Cornering lamps
  • Parking lamps
  • Battery saver

Car radio, power locks, interior lights do not work. Headlights will only come on if car is started. Everything worked fine until aftermarket cd player installation was attempted. RCA jack looking thing...

You folks never learn, you can't use just any aftermarket sound system in these newer vehicles. The electronics are all networked together. I have no idea what you have damaged.

When my head lights comes on in my 1997 lincoln town car the radio do a constant scan, just keeps scanning i have changed the light switch

The headlight wiring and radio wiring is getting in contact and causing the short. Both the grounds needs to be checked.Because when headlight is off,the radio work's fine.As soon as the headlights are turned on,the radio goes in scan mode. Its clear indication of radio and headlight wiring issue. The wiring's are getting in contact with ant metal surface or both the radio and headlight wire are coming in contact, where they should not.I suggest you to check the headlight and radio wiring diagrams for your lincoln town car. Here is the direct link.Click the link below :---Check out all the 3 links one by one.Radio wiring diagram for 1997 LincolnTown Car?http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/radio-wiring-diagram-for-1997-lincoln.html

Head lights wont stay on

Check your steering column. There is a switch that cancels the turn signals in there. If it's bad, your signals will act funny and this also affects the hazard switch. Banging on the dash is what triggers the signals to work as the vibration goes into the steering column also. You might also want to check the fuses, relay switch, located inside the the left fender next to the steering column. Sometimes, the radio and the turn signals will go funky at the same time. Make sure your radio is grounded.
Hope this helps.

Head lights on CD player off

if you cut the wires to install the radio check to see if the wire you used as a ground for the radio turns to hot when you turn on the lights if this happens then the wire ypu used for ground is actually a backlight wire and you will need to find a new ground. please rate if this helps
