The power outlet in the front drivr side by the cup holder doesnt work.

usually as with glove boxes doors and such- they have some sort of side tab to push or pull to remove door or compartment holder- I would think the manufacture is not going to do any different on a cup holder - as you side it out- there probably a tab stop with it - the item about it in the image may have to be removed also to get cup holder out of the way. maybe it easier to remove side cover from panel to look behind holder

1. Open cup holder and remove (2) Phillips 7mm screws.

2. Unsnap and remove power outlet assembly from lower storage, unplug power outlet wires and put assembly in a safe location.

3. Open lower storage door and remove (2) 7mm screws inside.

4. Models with DVD - Remove DVD player and remove (2) 7mm screws from behind and (2) 7mm screws near the floor.

5. Remove lower storage compartment, put it in a safe location.

6. Remove (2) 7mm screws (facing up) from the cup holder.

7.Remove (3) 7mm screws and remove radio.

I assume you mean the one that flips up in the center console?

If so, there are three likely issues.

1) did you slide out the retainer from the upper screw? the top screw had a cover that had to be pried off. you then took the screw out. Lastly you have to slide out the plastic retainer that the screw went into. It slides out towards the opening.

2) you have to have the cup holder partially open to remove it. the hinged part that folds up is stored in the cavity under the console when closed. you have to open the cup holder and keep pushing until the front of the cup holder lip comes up. Work the cup holder up and down until it comes out.

3) the cup holder is stuck in place due to years of spilled liquid. If you've done the above, then you can either spray soapy water on the creases around the opening and let it set, or you can apply strategic brute force.
Be aware through. if this is the center console cup holder just behind the gear shifter. There are two screws and nothing else to hold it in. Just be carefull....

You need to replace the heater fan blower motor speed dropping resistor it is burned out. The resistor is under the dash next to the blower motor on the passenger side of the Van

Just did this myself.
Open the front compartment under the drink holder, lightly push to one side and then pull on the side where the crack you've just made is to disengage the clips, repeat for the other side.
When you have that cleared, remove the screws that have the face plate attached to the drink holder.
Stick your hand up in through the hole where the lower compartment was and with the other hand push the drink holder in and out, changing the angle a little bit until you can pull it free.

Loosen the hex head set screw from the front of the Shifter knob. Pull it off, then remove the screws on the lower sides, as well as the ones hiding under the rubber cup holder. The entire assemble will now lift off.

for the lighter its probly the fuse,is anything eles not working?? if fuse is good then,the lighter element is dead get a new popper part at an auto place 10-15 bucks for a jobber, as for the trunk latch if the trunk was slamed maby the metal hook flange maby moved looked for the dirt lines or the paint lines to reline it up, or maby its the cable for the latch itself, almost like a derailer or shifter cable on a moutian bike maby its jamed in the open posistion LUBE like WHITE LITHUM GREESE or just plane WHITE GREESE IN A SPRAY CAN what type of car is it may i ask...

Yes absolutely you can my friend. and you are correct this will fit 1997 to 2004 actually!

check these fuses:

under the hood fuse panel:

#23 - auxiliary power
#25 - ac/dc inverter

instrument panel fuse panel:

#29 - retained accessory power

if these fuses are good and they have power at the fuse panel, the outlet itself may be bad. if your inclined and you have a test light you can check to see if the outlet has power going to it by probing the wires on the back of the outlet if you can get to them. test the red and white wire for 12v positive and test the black wire for a good ground. if those wires test ok then it its the outlet itself that is bad. if the wires do not test ok then there is a break in a wire somewhere which will have to be traced and repaired

I recently had to retrieve a small object (camera battery) that was dropped in the cup holder. The battery allowed the cup holder to close properly, but it would not allow the cup holder to open all the way, making the cupholder useless. Getting access to remove the object was quick and easy - all it takes is a small flat blade screw driver. Use the screw driver to gently pry up the wood trim panel in front of the cup holder. Be sure to pull it up evenly from both sides and it will pop out of its retaining sockets. You'll then have the access you need.
