94 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6cyl, auto. Have power at the coil but no ground. Have good fuel pressure. Checked the wiring. Could not find a broken wire. Replaced the PCM, crank and cam sensors. Just got the wiring wrapped back up. What else can I check? At a loss for words. Everything I check seems to be working except the coil ground. The PCM communicates with the scan tool and shows the sensors doing there job.

My diagram shows a grey ground wire going to pin 19 on the computer with no side trips anywhere. have continuity end to end on that wire?? Grounds supplied by the computer are either completed internally or switched from asd or on signal from crank or cam sensor.

If you have a security system, close all the doors and then lock the drivers door with the key, then unlock it. That should re-set the system. I've had the computer completely disconnected from mine several times (used it to check another vehicle) and I don't have security...it started and ran fine...only difference between the two is the security so I'd try that.

SOURCE: where is the pcm on 1997 jeep grand cherokee 6 cyl?

I don't think the PCM is your problem, is the check engine light on? It could be you idle air control motor this is located on the throttle body, but because this happens while driving I am thinking you will need to replace your crank shaft position sensor it is located on the transmissinon bell housing it is very hard to replace without the correct tools. If the check engine light is on take it to a local auto parts store and ask if they can check the check engine codes for you they usally will do this for free.

I had a similar problem with my 98 Cherokee and after a month in the shop, it turned out to be a short in the wiring harness.

Power windows wont work on 94 grand cherokee. fuses are good. replaced drivers door master switch. motor works by bypassing switch. what else could it be?

You need to confirm power and ground at the switch. There should be at least two larger gauge wires to the switch. One will have switched ignition power (probably a red or orange wire) the other will have a constant ground (will likely be a black wire). If you don't have that you'll have to trace the wires back and see why. It most likely has a broken wire in the drivers door jam or a bad ground somewhere.

I have a Jeep grand cherokee laredo and i have installed a new fuel pump and fuel filter but it will not start i have checked all fuses and relays please help.

Having same issue with my 2000 grand cherokee. sometimes fuel pump will prime and car starts the other 50% of time no fuel pump noise only smaller radiator fan will come on and make vibrating whining noise. I have changed out fuel pump and filter as well as checked and ruled out all fuses/relays involved. Need help too

6cyl. reliable, runs good. but three fuel pumps recently, still no pressure, but starts after 20-25 cranks. starts good when cold. new regulator, dist.+plugs/cables/coil.

Check the in line fuel filter, could be under hood or along frame. Also there is a screen in the tank but should have been checked when fuel pump was changed.....

94 Jeep Cherokee won't start

I believe the green wire is a pulse from the distributor and its a ground signal. I could be wrong since is been a while since i left the jeep dealer...I would take the coil out (2 bolts on most) and take it to autozone. They can test it in minutes for free. Either that or the ignition module but more common is coil.
