I have a Pontiac Grand am se 2.3 liter that won't start everything powers on but hen I turn the key to start it nothing happens not even a clicking to stay an get it t I start??

Turn on headlamps and try to start. Do lights dim? Yes= bad battery connections, low charge on battery, bad solenoid, bad starter. Not dimming? bad solenoid, bad starter switch, bad neutral safety switch, bad starter relay, bad ignition switch. Use voltmeter to see if ignition switch works, and so on.

Go to this site for what you need;

http://www.jeepz.com/forum/engine/16923-six-cylinder-4-0-liter-jeep-engine-specs.html

If by chance your check engine light does not light up on your dash, when you turn your ignition on, then your ecu is in need of repair.

I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE. Have had periodic problems starting.Battery seems fine and someone told me it may be the fuel pump which is supposedly in the gas tank.(big money replacement job) Or...

your car would struggle at high speeds if it was the fuel pump.

Go to a mechanic, I can't stress this enough, and get a full systems check. Basically the mechanic pulls out this mini computer lookin device and hooks it up to your engine and tells you everything that is wrong. It's 50-80 bucks. Well worth it.

Try engine cleaner (put into a full tank of gas) or a tune up would do nothing but help.
