1999 Buick Century Custom _ Brake Problem My 99 Century has little to no assist and it makes an air hissing sound when depressing the brake pedal. I think that this means that I have a faulty brake "power booster." I am thinking that maybe it is a faulty push rod seal in the booster or something along those lines. The vehicle will stop as long as you press hard enough on the brake pedal and the faster you depress the pedal determines whether you receive any brake assist while braking. A slow action on the brake pedal causes the brake pedal to go kinda mushy with a lot of air hiss with little to no brake assist. I am kind of strapped for money right now and am trying to fix this with the least amount of financial damage, so if you think that it is the "power booster" can I simply remove the booster and repair it with some sort of seal kit or something along those lines or do you recommend that I just buy a new "power booster" altogether? Jack.

Need to replace right rear brake tube on 1999 Buick century custom

first measure the length of the steel tube to be replaced and diameter of tube cut off each end at the fitting so you can remove that fitting with a 6 sided socket. this will keep the fitting from stripping off the flats on the fitting next spray bleeder with wd40 to help open it so you can bleed the system after you replace that line . take your time with the bleeder as it will twist off if not fully freed up

Car looses power when brakes are pressed. In my 91 Buick Regal.

I wonder if you have an air leak in the brake servo? Check the manifold vacuum as you operate the brakes. Look for bad hoses around brake servo.

2001 ford escape makes a hissing and high pitched squealing sound when the brake pedal is released?

You need to have the brakes inspected. This noise is the brake pad wear warning tab hitting the brake rotor.;

I get a hissing sound by my brake peddle when I apply my brakes and it does not go away. When I run the engine and depress the brake peddle and hold it there and turn the engine off the brake peddle...

Your bake booster has failed causing a massive vaccume leak when you apply the brakes. That in turn gives more air to the system so the computer tells it to add more fuel thus causing the rpms to go up. Replace it %99.5 chance that will fix it.

There's a little rust making the wheel stick to the rotor. Just give it a kick to the tire and it'll break it loose.
