Indicator light One of my indicator lights is on. It comes on sometimes, it flashes sometimes. I have no manual so I don't know what the light is for. It's a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I was told it comes on if my gas cap is screwed on loosely, I was also told I should not drive it if the light stays on. thank you!

The reason the light on the dash flashes quickly is to tell you a bulb has blown just locate which one and replace said item, or go to Halfrauds.

Most hazards flash brake lights not the turn signals, double check your signal bulbs. Try to get it to flas fast and visually inspect which bulb isn't working. Then replace that bulb

Whenever a light doesn't work and the dash indicator light comes on without flashing, first suspect a bad bulb, or a bad ground at the bulb.
The electricity is feeding back through the system to the dash indicator.
Second would be the flasher, but likely not in your case.

get as new relay swich box and it should be ok if it dose not work check the steering indicator is not broken of inside the switch on the indicator arm

check the earths on the lights and the bulb wattage ,it should be 21watt ,but if its the weird funny system on a american car then who knows ,where the stop light is the indicator and it flashes red and cuts out ??

hi, this sounds like you have a bad earth at the rear lights, remove both rear light clusters and check for any signs of corrosion, give all connections a clean and a little tweek, this should cure your problem

Check the wiring harness. Sounds like it has come in contact with the break assembly and is shorting out. Look for exposed wiring where the cover has worn off coming in contact with the break. Tape all exposed wiring and be glad you haven't had a small fire.

Fast flashing is a warning that one of the bulbs is not working. if the front flasher d/side is out try changing the bulb and cleaning the terminals inside the unit.

replace the rear bulb it flashs fast to let you know the bulb is bad, whatever bulb is not flashing thats the bad bulb, should be a 1157 bulb or a 1156 if it has one contact it's a 1156 if two it's a 1157
