If we are talking about brake light in dash, check parking brake by putting park brake on and then off if there is no change check park brake switch located on park brake to see if it is still connected and or dirty they come off sometimes
You have a brake light switch attached to your brake pedal, may be loose or bad.Read what it says,if bad light will stay on,easy to replace, just disconnect electrical connector, then unscrew nut, then remove, the end piece clicks on and off,I have a 85 Nissan 720 truck, have replaced mine before years ago. It sounds like your brake pedal switch is not working right. Are the lights on all the time, or just when you turn ignition off? If the former, it is bad brake switch. If the latter, you likely have a bad ground located somewhere in the wiring harness.
Most vehicles have the switch located on a small plate next to the brake pedal arm. Follow the pedal up the arm and to the firewall. Along the way you should see a plunger style switch that looks like the one that you bought. It might also be found inside or next to the brake booster under the hood.
Get under the dash ad look at your brake pedal lever. You will see a stop light switch that screww into a bracket with a 'button' sticking out of it. if pulling up on the brake pedal (even slightly) solves your problem, then the switch needs adjusting closer to the brake lever. If adjusting does not stop problem then replacement of brake light switch may be required.
under the dashboard on the drivers side. look at the brake pedal lever. there should be a switch attached. push switch in and twist to remove. then pull the button as far out as it will go. while holding brake pedal down reinstall switch. then pull pedal up to top. this will reset the brake light switch. if they stay on still, then just replace the brake light switch.
