Must be your fuel pump has quit working. There should be fuel under pressure in the line to the throttle body, just by turning the key to on, not start. Not real high pressure like in multiport injected engines. Throttle body injection runs on about 20psi. If no pressure in your lines, find out why the pump is not working.
I have a 1992 Isuzu Rodio 3.1 injectors not working; but if i put gas in the throttle body it will start up and run. but while driving it down the street it will die and not re-start, until i put gas in the throttle body. the nod light does not work when it wont start. please can you help me with this problem, i have put a new fuel pump in it and two new injectors.
there, Joel here 20 year master mechanic. For the faulting to the injector
pulse and power, the control mod in the distributor controls fuel and spark. You're
going to have to replace the control mod. I believe AutoZone carries these at
26.99 p/n DR126. Hope this helps.
Start with changing the fuel filter...it might be plugged. Also you might want to run some throttle body cleaner from general motors. It comes in an spray can and it is squirted into the throttle body intake while reving the engine to clean out the throttle body system of carbon. And after that run a full tank of gas with fuel injection system cleaner in it. If that does not work then pull those spark plugs and check for gap and wear. Also check the plug wires...if they are old then replace them.
The throttle-body (or throttle plate inside the throttle-body) is probably gunked-up with carbon deposits and needs a good cleaning.
Take the air snorkel off of the throttle body and look inside while holding the throttle plate open. If you have thick black deposits on the back side of the throttle plate, you can clean it by spraying some throttle body cleaner (Available at any parts store) onto a rag and using an old tooth brush to push the rag, clean all the black gunk out of the area.
I recommend an old tooth brush because using something hard like a screwdriver can scratch the inside of the aluminum throttle body and actually make the throttle stick worse. I don't recommend spraying the throttle body cleaner directly into the throttle body because it can end up in the air plenum where it may loosen some deposits that can cause severe engine damage.
I trust this is a throttle body fuel injection system? If it is: purchase a "noid" for your vehicle at an autoparts store this little tester will let you know if your injectors are working. if they are not; they will not be spraying gas into your "bowl" the injectors are little electrical powered solenoids; check fuses, fuseable links and, the efi module.
