I have a 1994 concours ,and the speedometer sometimes when I'm in a red light, then it turns green and the speedometer won't work, it stays in zero even though the car is moving, it takes time for it to kick in and starts to work fine, but here is my concern! when it doesn't work and the speedometer stays at zero, it won't shift gears, until some how when I go over a bump speedometer works again causing the gears to also work fine, please don't tell me is the input speed sensor, is there another speed sensor that controls the odometer? thank you very much!

Look if the engine is doing what you say then it is overheating and there is no problem with the sensor, remember the sensor only tells what is going on, it does not cause anything like overheating. Have you bled the system of air, there is a factory procedure to do this.

SOURCE: ABS and TC light on, speedometer and odometer not working

I have the 2000 Cadillac Catera Sport and I had the same problem. ABS, TC light and no speedometer and odo. I thought it was an electrical problem however I solved the problem by refurbishing the ABS Module. If you bring to the dealer it will cost you $3,000. You can have your ABS module rebuilt try modulemaster.com they do it for about $200 I believe. I got mine fixed because a friend of mine removed them and soldered some loose connectors together. All it cost me was a case of beer! It worked for my car just a suggestion for you guys. My ABS Module was a Bosch 5.3. Hope this helps!

On my car, which is the same as yours, it is located on the manifold top back left. Pictures in the book just show it on top.

SOURCE: speedometer and odometer both are not working

This sounds like your speed sensor may be bad. It's located usually toward the top of the transmission. Also make sure the cabling going to the sensor itself is tight and the connections are clean. The speed sensor shouldn't cost any more than around $20 and is available at just about every auto parts store.

I hope this helps! :)

Speedometer not working

If the speedo and odometer do not work, the problem is usually the speed sensor in the transmission. If the odometer works but not the speedo, the problem is usually inside the speedometer assembly.

My 1994 cadillac concours doesn't ride smooth it sways a lot and the service ride control message is on the dash how do i fix it and what are the solutions

Those models had air ride on the back and adustable struts on the front. Usually the ride control light is on because of faulty sensors in the struts which are expensive to replace. You could run a scan on the system to find out for sure.
If the car sways on turns, you may have a problem with one of the stablizer bars or links.
I would take it to a shop that does suspension work and get an estimate or two.

Problems: ac speedometer warning lights 2006 honda civic

It sounds like you have a ground issue near the transmission. Make sure the ground strap above the upper radiator hose is booked down good. Also check the plugs on the transmission for a loose connection.

1994 940 Volvo wagon turbo has intermittent electrical problems. Blinker on dash stays lit. Dash lights go out but will come back. Radio stopped working then both radio and CD player stopped working all...

It truly sounds like a loose or faulty/corroded ground wire. Almost 99% of the electrical problems I have experienced with Volvo's are loose wire related. There are a number of ground wires underneath the hood grounding the engine. However my first suspect would be the connections on the alternator and battery.

Hope this helps.

I have a 1994 honda accord which i want to take on a travel. i found out that the speed sensor is faulty but i cant work or change it at my present location. what would be the consequence of this action...

The only thing that will happen is that your speedometer won't work so you won't be able to see how fast you are going. It won't cause any other damage to anything else in the car you're just risking a possible speeding ticket. Just try to stay with the flow of traffic.

Good Luck!
