Question about 2000 Dodge Caravan
My oil pressure light and chime went off after car was warmed up and in idle, when I pushed on gas light and chime stopped. Here is how I fixed. First I found the oil pressure sensor located right next to oil filter on the drivers side of oil filter. Next I jacked up drivers side so gain access to underneath. Removed the wires and top half of plastic part of oil sensor from it by pulling on a bright colored piece of plastic that pulled out about an 1/8 inch or so and that released the plastic device and wires going to the oil sensor . Next I just wiggled and worked off the half of the plastic with wires attached. ( the part looks like a spark plug) ok now I didn't have the right size socked I know its bigger than a 24 millimeter and so I used a regular adjustable wrench to get it loose and then put a small wood clamp and worked it slowly off.. just get the right socket , lol . very tight space to work in and I was frustrated with that, I never used a small clamp like this but was desperate. OK, once you remove clean it with wd 40 or something like that , I used a product similiar to wd 40 but was walmart brand and some goof off .. spray in hole and tap on a rag to work out gunk . use a large paper clip or something to work the little spring back and forth in there. (like a little trampoline in there) after cleaning replace and lastly attach plastic part with wire and push in the colored clip.
