One thing you could check is one of the fans works with the AC so cut your air on and see if one of them works ,check fuses and if you can locate a sensor coming out of the block or around thermostat housing with two wires and unplug it and if the fans come on you have a bad fan switch.

Temperature gauge varies.

I would have the cooling fans checked. When the car is moving there is air forced through the radiator naturally. But when stopped, the car relies on the fans to pull air through the radiator to pull heat out of the coolant.

2002 cadillac deville. We have replaced: Radiator, water pump, thermostat, cooling fan, coolling relay and still it overheats. I'm getting a cyclinder misfire on the code readout and no clue where to...

The cyl misfire is a clue. most likely you have head gasket leakage. Have a auto shop do a BLOCK-TEST it will test the cooling system for combustion gases.

MY CADILLAC is overheating

if the cooling system is full,it could be the thermostat or the cooling fan not working(fan motor, relay, coolant sending unit, bad connection)or the head gasket is no good or even the computer may not be turning the fan(s) on.when the motor overheats the cooling fan(s) should be running if not that may be the problem.you can have a block test done to see if the head gaskets are bad.chances are you haven`t changed the thermostat so it should be changed at any rate.by putting a scanner tool on it you may find the problem quickly.

Blowing cold air and it just over-heated. cadillac dts 2001

sounds like your thermostat is stuck must replace it. at the end of your top radiator hose engine side is a thermostat housing remove it and thermostat is under it. make sure there is no pressure in the cooling system first.
