You have an OBD 2 System Malfunction

You have to retreive the codes, diagnose the
system that applies & resolve/fix etc.

There should be no questions with any of
todays vehicles

Use the internet to study OBD 2

ALL dash check lights, mil lights, etc have
been on ALL Vehicles for 30 years,30 years

The proceedure is the same, don't have to ask

Check for codes
Diagnose Malfunctioning System
Repair with in a week --start to finish

Read Owners Manual or buy one

Advance Trac is an Option on Ford Products
that I will never get again.

It cuts out injectors & slams on the rear brakes,
in the winter on the slightest rear wheel slip,
making the vehicle useless

You probably got it because it is a lincoln

Your Question --- You may have a bad Wheel Speed Sensor

You never turn off ANY Mil Lamps

They will either come back on -until the
system is repaired or you clear the light,
thus the codes & no one will be able to
know what to work on

2008 navigator, wrench symbol on dashboard

Several autoparts stores like Autozone, Oreilys and Advance will scan your vehicle for free and tell you what Codes are present. The scanners are different, so the store would need a scanner that has the ability to diagnose the traction control system with the ABS.

The Traction control works with the ABS to limit wheel slip. Intermittent flashing of the Traction light can occur, sometimes the brake pads are worn and do not respond as well as they should. The system counts the RPM of each wheel, applies braking and can interrupt power of the engine.

See what the scan shows.

Advance tracking system turning off and abs light is on

You need to get the brakes checked. The brakes ABS warning is a fairly accurate system and it probably is made to shut off the tracking system because without brakes, the tracking system can not work properly.
The tracking system and ABS work by counting the revolutions to the wheels and balance left and right sides by using the brakes. If brake debris or bad brake pads interfere with the counting, the warning will engage.
You may be able to save the rotors with prompt action, but know that the brakes are not within specifications and are headed for a metal to metal conflict.
