Raise the hood on your car, and look at the manufacturers engine decal, this will tell you what size of engine that you have, then you can compare the information about the fuel pump that you had put in, this way , it will tell you if the pump is right for your car.

WELL YOU COULD HAVE WRONG FUEL PUMP.THE 2.4L 41 - 47 PSI AND THE 2.2L ENGINE HAS 50 - 60 PSI. THE 3.4L ENGINE HAS 41- 47 PSI. LOOK UNDER THE HOOD ON TOP OF ENGINE.YOUR ENGINE COVER WILL TELL YOU IF YOU HAVE 3100 3.1 ENGINE OR 2.4 OR 2.2 ENGINE.LOOK ON TOP OF ENGINE COVER THAT WILL GIVE YOU WHAT ENGINE SIZE YOU HAVE.

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with 4.3 liter have to keep putting gas in throttle body for it to start. What might be the problem?

if your car starts after putting gas in throttle, means that you have no sufficient fuel feeding and one cause is the injection system not providing the need fuel, pressure regulator the second cause,or the fuel filter is blogged.

Car keeps shutting off while driving. We have changed fuel filter twice worked good for a couple of days and then started again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Fuel filter is the best place to start but sometimes the fuel pump can cut out intermittently as well and it is also possible that your injectors are gummed up. Perhaps a higher grade of fuel might make a difference or fuel injector cleaner once a month when you fill your tank might help if it is an injector issue.
I am not certain how to tell if the fuel pump is intermittently cutting out other than eliminating other reasonable possibilities. I had that happen to me and like you I changed the fuel filter and ran injector cleaner through my tank and still had the problem. I dropped the tank and replaced the pump and it ran great afterward.

Have you relapced the fuel pump and filter? Take it to a garage and have the fuel pump pressure checked. It very common for fuel pumps or a clog in the line to cause this.

Hi, my 97 chevy truck has intermittent problems. It runs fine most of the time but sometimes it wont start and the fuel pump wont kick in. But then a few minutes later when I try it, it runs. Sometimes...

You need to have a fuel pressure gauge to check it when it wont run. Take your fuel pump relay and switch it for the horn relay. Is the ground good for the fuel pump, the wire bolts on the frame. these had problems with the connector at the fuel tank, make sure they are in good conditon and dont look like they have been hot or melted.

Engine will not fire immediately when key engaged unless accelerater pumped prior to key engagment, already changed fuel filter twice

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is allowing the fuel pressure to bleed down. While sitting (key off) it should hold about 30 psi of fuel pressure to keep the system primed. When it bleeds down it causes an extended start, you sometimes have to cycle the key a couple of time before it will start. If this is the case then replace fuel pressure regulator. FYI pumping the accelerator on a fuel injected vehicle does not prime the system.

Intermittent starting problem

Did you replace ignition leads? What about air intake leaks. Air = fuel. No air = no fuel = no start.

2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.

1998 Chevy tahoe Hard to start when cold

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.
