It is always cheaper to buy a working used one from a junkyard than to fix the old one. look around on eBay, craigslist, and junkyards. recyclers pull the radios and owners manuals out of cars and pile them in the office. so call around to local junkyards looking for a recent pontiac with CD player. you will most likely have to take a sawzall to your old one to get your discs out, but CDs are old tech now anyway. you should be able to get one for under 50 bucks, if you are not handy stereo install shops take them out and put them in very quickly and cheaply and are yet another source for used OEM stereos.
