How do you check the timing in a 2003 saab 2.3t as it turns over but wont start sounds though its out of time

take the plastic cover off, and on the metal part above the cams there are cutouts, in Vshapes thats the cam markings. one crank wheel you will see a notch and on the engine will have a pin sticking out that is the bottom timing mark the all should line up on piston 1 top stroke. and depending on if it has original or aftermarket timing belt adjuster it will have a making on this to say if its the right torque usel says new or old on markings. new is if fitted new and old if it has been removed and refitted. but if its not starting would check the relays in the engine fuse box the 2 the same colour as one is the fuel pump and other is the injector relay.

Tiburon timing belt broke, replaced, won't start

Did you make sure you set cam & crank timing ? If the belt is off one tooth it will cause this. Recheck belt timing first.

Car won't start mechanic said timing belt had split is the engine ruin now . Is it an inter mediate engine

Yes, the engine in the 2002 Kia is and Interference fit engine. Meaning if the belt breaks there is a possibility of valve, piston damage. The 2.4L, 4 cylinder and the 2.5L, 2.7L v6 are all Interference type engines. Sorry, The engine is not ruined but may have some damage that may be costly to repair.

Hi, I have a transit t260 2.0 diesel engine 2002 that now won't start? I hadn't started it for a month before today. Today I started it, it fired up first time drove it for about half a mile, it...

I think it is i will probably have to pull the timing belt, it sounds like it probably skipped due to the serpentine belt cords wrapped around something under the timing belt cover, any other suggestions on alternate causes before I start pulling the brand new timing belt?12
