Why does my 1993 Lexus 6 cylinder engine always overheat on the highway but never in the city? I can not drive it on the highway safely. There are no performance problems and no apparent oil and coolant leaks. There is no smoke in the exhaust. I replaced the radiator, radiator caps and hoses, thermostat. odometer is 189,000 miles.

The only other thing it could be is the water pump. I believe this model has a propeller that fails quite often.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I didn't know that regarding the water pump. I will definately get this done next weekend. Thanks again!!"

How much gas to fill my gas tank up for a chevelote venture 2001 for a 3&half hour trip

The average gas mileage of a 2001 venture is 20 mpg. 17 city and 24 highway. This is on a 6 cylinder 3.4 liter engine. Your tank capacity is 20 gallons. Depending how many miles you drive on your trip is how much you should fill up for one way.

1993 chrysler acclaim 3.0/6 cyl misses or hits while engine cycles this while in idle or drive ex; sitting at stop light.

if it sits there and seems to rev up and down, it is probably your throttle position sensor. Mine acted up very bad, expecially when leaving the highway back into city driving when at a stop sign.

Jeep overheats quickly at city driving , not at highway. and quickly cools down? had thermostat replaced. what could it be

city driving does not force air through the radiator like highway driving does. if it has overheated, suspect a blown head gasket caused by expansion of the head when warm rubbing against the gasket and tearing it. could be the water pump, pull a heater hose and start engine. if coolant blasts out, pump is working. caution!! coolant may be hot!!! if it trickles, you have a restriction or a bad pump. stupid question, you have coolant in the radiator, right?

Brake pedal went out on me going about 65 on the highway, was able to pump enough to get it under control. Brake company said brakes and diaphragn were fine, needed new master cylinder. Brakes went out...

it sounds like you've got an issue with the engine vacume line going to the booster. there's an in line one way check valve that keeps vacume in the booster in case of a loss of vacume, like if your truck stalled while driving. but there should always be vacume with the engine running. so check the vacume line going to the brake booster for kinks obstructions, and leaks.

2006 lexus Is250 or a 2007 benz c230?

In the Edmunds Mercedes Benz C Class is a group which gives you discussions of what are the pros and cons of a Mercedes. I would research this website to give you a better price comparison of a mercedes to a lexus. A classic problem with Mercedes is the electrical problems they have had through the years, and if you do not want to spend a lot on electrical problems I would wayered towards the lexus. Lexus however has an average of 130 defects per 100 cars and the interior of these cars can be somewhat small. Repair costs for lexus are kind of expensive too.

The Merceds c230 goes for rougly $30,000 dollars. It gets 29 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg city. It has 2.5 V6 with 201 horsepower. Driver and Passenger crash ratings wore rated both 4 out of 5 and that is not bad at all. It comes with a 6 speed transmission is a manumatic so you can either up or downshift for a better drive or leave it in automatic for city. There is also 17 inch wheels which are standard. It has dual climate air and heat and 10 way seat adjustments for a very comfortable ride for driver and passenger. The build quality is also exceptional.

The lexus averages for around 23,000 to 27,000 dollars so it is a few thousand short of the bmw. It also has a 2.5 litre V6 with 204 horsepower so a little bit more hp than the bmw but only by 3 hp. It has an electric start and also good crash ratings. The braking and accleration are also reported to be real well. There is no manual with the larger motors and the backseat does not fold however. City gas mileage is 20 to 24 mpg. The highway is 28 to 30 mpg. Consumer car ratings are very high 4 and 5's and that's out of a 5 point scale so this car got high reviews in all departments. The BMW was said to be underpowered in accleartion however. It got a JD power rating of 5 on the mechancial side and that is the best rating and JD is a renouned auto reviewer so this is really good. The keyless start of the lexus make take some getting use to.

In my opinion it a toss up between german engineering and a home based American dealership. I've always liked the styling of BMW and they are autobauhn tested suspensions make them very aggressive in driving through corners and a very fun car to drive. However, the BMW is priced more and is said to be underpowered. The Lexus is cheaper and has enough power for any consumer. My best bet for you would be the Lexus. I hope this fixes your dilema and always have fun with the car you purchase!
