If you're asking how do you change a taillight bulb, then follow this procedure:

Open the trunk lid.

Disconnect the connectors from the taillights (taillight bulb connectors are visible by looking inside the trunk at the back of the tail lamps.) There may be an interior trunk trim panel that you have to take off but in most cases its just a series of thumb screws that hold them in.

Brake Lights/Taillights: 21/5 W

Rear Turn Signal Light: 21 W

Back-up Light: 21 W

Rear Side Marker Light: 5 W

Turn the bulb sockets 45 º counterclockwise to remove the bulbs.

If you're removing the taillamps with the bumper off there are 3 nuts and screws that hold the taillight to the rear panel of the car that have to come off from the inside of the trunk.
Remove the nuts and screws, then remove the taillight.

hope that answers your question

Once you open the truck/tailgate you can see the 2 screws that need to be removed (see picture below). Once you remove the screws the whole tail lamp assembly pulls striaght out and just turn the light socket attched to the assembly and you should be able to figure it out from there. Hope this helps.....

How do you change the tail light?

from the trunk, pull down the carpet and remove the nuts holding down the tail light assembly. Should be 3-4 nuts. After removing the assembly from the outside simply turn the light socket to remove it from the tail light housing. Replace the bulb and reinstall in reverse order.

you need to remove the 2 torx screws (accessable when you open the tail gate). once they are out, you are able to pull the whole tail lamp assembly out of its position, and then turn the socket counter clockwise to remove it from the assembly. replace the bulb, and reassemble. good luck!

How to replace the rear taillight assembly of a 2006 impala

Hello jreigle, my name is JShreader. Thank you for choosing

Open the Trunk Lid. Now...There is a Nut holding the Trunk Liner Carpet to the body of the Car. Remove it and pull the Liner downwards out of the way. Now you will see 2 more Nuts holding the Tail Light Assembly to the Vehicle. Remove them and the Tail Light should now be free. I uploaded a picture for you showing how it is done. You can download it by clicking HERE. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions or need any more diagrams, please don't hesitate to ask...Thanks again, JShreader!

Replace Tail light assembly

Loosen ther interior plastic to gain access to the 2 hidden nuts. We use an articulated ratchet to get to the bolts, however. Not hard to do.
