Air conditioning not working air conditioning not working had it regased still no better

  • kenno78 Apr 19, 2009

I had my audi a6 2.5tdi regassed as the aircon light came on 2 weeks ago and stayed on. I was told that it comes on when the air con needs regassing because it stops any damage being caused to the air con unit, dont know how true this is but they took out 155ml of gas and put back 675ml and it still doesnt work. They Never Charged me for this in the end as it does'nt get cold, so if its something simple to repair i've had a result! Any help would be much Appreciated.

Have you had a new cam belt put on?
Check around the exhaust manifold for any conectors that were not connected back on or even if they have popped of, this happened to me simply plug it on, turn on air con and leave for 5 mins to get it flowing!

99 s40 volvo air con fully replaced but still not blowing cold air

Your compressor may not be engaging, could be activation switch, a relay or the compressor itself if you do not hear it engage when activating A/C.

Hi there what is happenig if i got my air conditioning regased an now the air blows through for about 20 minutes an then its like the water is stopping the air flow speed

It sounds like the drain tube for the evaporator chamber is blocked by dirt or small leaves and is not allowing any condensed water to drain awa, consequently reducing air flow and producing a gurgling sound. Check under dash for a rubber hose that runs from under the evaporator chamber and air ducting through to engine bay. A bit of sqeezing may help dislodge blockage but it may need removing fully to clean properly.

1999 grand jeep cherokee limited air con prob water coming out vent behind driver seat and water drops noted under glove box front passenger side ???? what to do air con recently regased works well but...

You have a leak in your air conditioning compressor Your system works on the reheat principle All air passing through the system is cooled and reheated before it enters the cabin this sould be dehumidified air but it passes through the heater core and sence the air is not dehumidified you are getting condansation as the air flows the heater core that is heated by the engine heat and the water is from condencation because of the leak in the ac compressor The unit is a press fit in the center of it and fials unfortinatly a lot with this disgien of compressor

Air Conditioner will not blow cold air (only slightly cool air) but air compressor is working. What can be wrong? Fan speed works fine.

chances are it needs regasing/presureising,unless you use a/c for about 15 mins a day(on average) a/c gas needs re charging every 4/5 years.

Fan not turning off

You say that the air con is not cold, i think the problem would be the aircon will need regasing, if the gas has escaped from the system, the temperature in the aircon system will always be warm so the fan will continue working attempting to cool it down. It will need checking for leaks, most companies that recharge the system check the whole system for leaks first before refilling the system. If its the engine cooling fan it could be the thermo switch that is faulty, the way to check that is when the engine is cold disconnect the wires from the switch and put an ohms meter across the swith it sould not give any reading, it will only show a reading when the engine reaches operating temparature. hope that helps. regards Richard
