If the airbag has been deployed, is is necessary to REPLACE the airbag (SRS) ECU. It is located below the center console. (See picture) It must be replaced because on your vehicle, it contains the crash sensors. If you do not replace it and hook-up new airbags and turn the key on, the new airbags will immediately deploy. There is no way to "reset" it.

P.S. If the airbags HAVE NOT been deployed, you need to scan the SRS ECU and find out why it has turned the light on.

P.S.S. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) should only be serviced by trained, qualified service personel, using the proper equipment and servicing techniques. This is NOT a DIY project unless you are really fond of having an accidental airbag deployment ripping your face off.

Reset 2004 honda accord steering wheel controls?

A thing called the "Clock Spring" in the steering wheel needs replacing. It has all the wires in that operate that stuff on the steering wheel and airbag. There may also be a sliding ground connection that could be bad or dirty.

My horn quit working and airbag light came on after replacing starter and ignition switch. Help!! I have a 2001 dodge neon

I'm sorry but you may broke the clock spring connection from the column to the steering wheel.First make sure all the wire are connected under the dash after you work on ignition switch.
for clock spring disconnect the battery for 10 min.to discharge the SRS system.
turn the wheels and steering straight.
remove the airbag and store in safe place
remove the steering wheel
remove column cover
disconnect the clock spring and remove
installation in reverse order
the new clock spring have yellow lock tab. after removing the tab DO NOT turn the spring. the wire inside have limit of 2 1/2 turns each way.
good luck

Srs light is on why

When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1 hour prior.

My SRS light comes on and off. I don't know what

It has to do with your airbags. Supplemental Restraint System. This light can be caused by a lot of things including any of the following:
  • Letting battery drain too low
  • Bad Sensor
  • Blown fuse
  • Unplugging the car’s battery
  • Removing the gauge cluster/installing aftermarket gauges
  • G-Force sensors that are under each of the front fenders ($250.00 each)
  • Bad clockspring (located inside your steering wheel)
  • Bad ECU
  • Bad reverse light switch on transmission
  • Car was in an accident
  • Airbag defective/unplugged

Mitsubishi Colt SRS red light

Hi
This is perfectly normal for this light to com on and going off after a few seconds. The SRS computer needs to make sure all the sensors and airbags are responding at first ignition key on, then if all of them are responding and working, the light goes off.
If it happens that the light doesn't go OFF after 30secs and stays ON all the times then you should pay a visit to your local dealer.
But for now you can enjoy your car safely.
Cheers,
