My power outlet quit working in my 2004 Dodge. I need it for my GPS system and am not sure if it might be just a fuse. I have no idea where to look for the fuse that would be damaged if that is the problem.

Yes, I have the very same problem.  Of course when I contacted the dealership, they quoted me an initial 49.95 to check out the issue.  I was also informed what they would need to do is to check each fuse and do a process of elimination type thing.  This sucks!!!

By the way this is not a solution.  The power outlet is not listed on the fuse cover?!!!!

Check the terminals where the fuse goes. If it\'s dirty, try to clean it up and then retry . If that still doesn\'t work, check your owner\'s manual and make sure you have the right ampage fuse.

Did you pull the fuses and look at them? If you just stuck a probe in there you will get power even if the fuse is bad.

Look at your maintenance manual. To find where your fuse box is located(may be under the hood or under the steering wheel). When you find the fuse box look on the back of the panel flap and you'll find a fuse map. Locate the fuse that corresponds with your problem. It could be the same fuse but not likely. If fuse is blown then replace it with a spare. Most manufacturers will put spare fuses in the box or you could pull a fuse from some where else just to try and see if the problem is still there( make sure it's the same size and understand that it could blow this fuse as well then you will need 2 fuses). Most of the time fuses don't just blow. For some reason it pulled to much load. Probably a dead short in the wiring. I hope this helps.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

look in your owners manual,it will tell you the location of the fuse box and main block. if it doesn't show the what each fuse controls in the book, they should be listed on the covers of the boxes

use a test light with the circuits turned on as some fuse won`t show being good unless the circuit is on to send power through the fuse.if the fuses are good then run a separate ground wire to the wiper motor and make sure you have a good connection at both ends.if it starts to work then you will have to connect a ground wire to the wiper motor.if it doesn`t work then you can tap the motor with a small hammer with it turned on if it starts to work then the motor will have to be replaced as there is an internal problem with it,

I put a transmission in my 2001 Mercury Sable Ls. The car runs beautiful but I have electrical problems. I lost all power to my wipers, all my doors, my radio and my trunk release. I have check fuses and...

sounds to me like you have a grounding problem, did the battery terminal cable on the negative side go to the tranny and the body of the car ? have you checked the relay to make sure it actually works? if you jumper it and that makes it work,, you probably have a faulty relay and if thats the case you may have had a power surge in that panel of fuses that shorted out some other things, have you tried testing each side of the fuse locations for power? the fuse may be fine but is there actual power at the source,, continuity tests on fuses for failure work fine if the fuse is \out,, check for an actual 12 volts with a meter, let me know what you find out,,

All of the power windows stopped working

Sounds like a fuse problem. Check your fuses. If you need help find the exact fuses for power windows, look in your owners manual. In many cases, they can be in the engine compartment or the drivers kick panel. If you cannot tell if a fuse is blown, use a volt meter set to check continuity. If the voltmeter reads 0 or .1, the fuse is fine, if it reads 1, the fuse is blown. Hope this helps
