Re: directional don't flash
Sounds like the Relay is faulty. The Blinkers have a bimetalic relay switch that heats up when electric is flowing through it causing the strip to bend and break the circuit. Then as it cools the bi metalic strip straightens and it makes the contact again.
This is the box that makes the clicking noise you hear when the indicator is turned on. Its sounds like you need a new one. May be under the Dash board - or located by the fuses. If you have a manual look for the location of the Flasher relay and replace it. It should pull straight out - small 1.5 inch cube. Go to the parts store and ask if they have one so you know what your looking for and then check all your fuse locations to see if you can find it.

try pushing the hazard light switch again. what you have is the hazard lights in operation ( both sides indicators working) In normal indicator operation power from the flasher unit is directed to which ever side you select but by pressing the hazard light switch the indicator power lights up all lights.
There is more than one flasher. One is for hazards and the other flasher is for directional signals. They are located under dash just left and right of the steering column. Don't go tearing up the steering column, then you are asking for trouble. Try the least expensive and labor intensive fix first.
If the 15A HAZARD fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box is OK, power is getting to the hazard function of the flasher unit. Pressing the hzard switch should cause the hazard lights to flash. HOWEVER, there is an electronic time and warning indication system module connected to to the hazard switch lead and that may be affecting things. If the 10A TURN fuse is OK, power is applied to the turn switch (with the engine in START or RUN) and you state you can select a right or left turn. HOWEVER, the RED/WHT and RED/BLU outputs from the flasher unit connect directly to the front and rear turn lamps and the instrument cluster turn indicators so you are not getting any flasher output. Again, that electronic time & warning indication system module could be affecting things
Hazards work only when lights are off. Left signal light stays lit on the dash and does not blink and is stuck on (lit up) when lights are lit. If I place hazards on while lights are on only right side flashes and whole dash lights flash too... I replaced the flasher relay and it still does not work. Suggestions anyone? Thanks!
