apparently it is dual climate control. most common failure is the blend door actuator motor has gone bad on the passenger side. however it could be the door in the HVAC box has broken or the control head is bad.
There is a "blend" door on some models with automatic climate control and/or dual zone heat and air. If your model has this option, this might be the source of your problem. Possibly the blend door is stuck and can be freed easily if you're lucky. I have heard of some repairs for this problem to be quite costly, so definitely check around and get several diagnoses from reputable sources before jumping into this.
If the freon is low this can happen, also, there still will be a door actuator motor that controls the vents,it is in the dash, and the dash would have to be removed to replace it.If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.
You will need to recharge your system , go to the nearest parts store and buy what ever brand that is recomended, and attach it to the lower air conditioning recharge valve.
There is a flap that directs the air. the flap is controlled by a vacuum actuator. This is located inside the venting. The actuator is connected to little vacuum hoses that attach to the temperature control switch. Either the flap is stuck, or the actuator has gone bad.
My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.
I agree, these vehicles have a problem with the blend doors and since the accuators hit the door when it opens and closes, it breaks the doors. and it's a huge job to replace them.
the most probabale cause of this would be a disfunctional hear core if you replace your heater your heater will more than likley work the the way it's supposed to
