The first step into seeing why the check engine light is on is to scan the codes, the computer will turn on this light when it sees a problem and then it stores codes . the codes are stored to tell you what part of the system has failed, you will need to go to an auto part store and they will scan it for free and give you a printout of the codes, good day.

How to install an ignition lock cylinder 1995 Mazda B2300

To install an ignition lock cylinder in a 1995 Mazda B2300, follow these steps:
  1. Turn the key to the "on" position: Insert the new ignition lock cylinder into the steering column and turn the key to the "on" position. This will align the lock cylinder with the steering column.
  2. Reinstall the pin or screw: Look for a small pin or screw located near the base of the cylinder and reinstall it to secure the lock cylinder in place.
  3. Reinstall the ignition switch: Slide the ignition switch back into place, making sure it clicks into place. Re-attach the locking tab.
  4. Reinstall the steering column covers: Carefully reinstall the steering column covers and secure them with the screws.
  5. Test the new ignition lock cylinder: Reconnect the battery and test the new ignition lock cylinder to make sure it's working properly. The engine should start without any problems, and the key should turn smoothly in the lock cylinder.
That's it! With these simple steps, you should be able to install a new ignition lock cylinder in your 1995 Mazda B2300. If you have any difficulty or questions during the process, it's always a good idea to consult your vehicle's owner's manual or contact a professional mechanic for assistance.

My 1996 mazda B2300 4 cylinder is not firing on 2 and 3. What do I need to do?

Check the firing order of the plug wires . have a compression test done as you may have a blown head gasket between the two cylinders. Check distributor cap for cracks and internal condition that will allow shorting of the spark

Firing order for 1996 mazda b2300

FIRING ORDERS NOTE: To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement. If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired. Fig. 1: 2.3L and 2.5L Engines Firing order: 1-3-4-2 Distributorless Ignition System 90972g01.gif
